Which is the best restaurant in your city?
There is one restaurant I can never give you the address of.
It has no Google rating, no fancy entrance, no reservation system and definitely no waiting list.
Yet, if someone asks me about the best restaurant I have ever been to, this one would probably win.
The restaurant is called Home.
The menu changes every day, depending on who is cooking, what is available in the kitchen and, occasionally, how much patience the cook has left. 😄
There are no Michelin stars here. But there are perfectly imperfect rotis, food served straight from the kitchen, someone shouting, “Aur lo na,” even when you are already full, and that one person who will quietly put your favourite thing on your plate without asking.
The ambience?
Sometimes noisy. Sometimes chaotic. Sometimes someone is watching television while everyone else is talking.
The service?
Questionable.
The bill?
Surprisingly generous.
And the best part is that nobody asks you to leave after you finish eating.
You can sit there for hours.
Talk about life.
Complain about people.
Discuss old memories.
Laugh at absolutely nothing.
Or simply sit quietly.
Perhaps that is why I have stopped believing that the best restaurants are necessarily the ones with beautiful interiors, elaborate menus and expensive plates.
Sometimes the best meal is the one where the food carries a little bit of someone’s love.
And sometimes, the best restaurant isn’t a place at all.
It is a feeling you keep returning to.
So, if you ask me which is the best restaurant in my city, I have an answer.
But I won’t tell you where it is.
You might already have one of your own.
Now it’s your turn… ❤️
If someone asked you, “Which is the best restaurant in your city?” — what would you say?
Not just the place with the best food, but the one that holds a little memory, a favourite dish, or a feeling you keep going back for.
Tell me… which restaurant in your city has your heart? 🍽️✨
Until the next whisper, 🤍
