Coffee Is Not My Favorite Drink. It’s My Quiet Beginning.

What is your favorite drink?

When someone asks me what my favorite drink is,

I instinctively think of coffee.

.

Not because it wakes me up,

but because it settles me down.

.

There is something deeply reassuring

about holding a warm cup in the morning

before the noise begins,

before the expectations arrive,

before the day asks anything of you.

.

Coffee doesn’t rush me.

It allows me a pause

between who I am

and who the world needs me to be.

.

It sits quietly beside my thoughts,

without interruption,

without judgment.

.

Over time,

it has become less of a preference

and more of a ritual

a familiar beginning

to uncertain days.

.

Some people look for motivation.

Some look for clarity.

.

I reach for coffee.

.

Not to escape the day,

but to arrive in it.

.

  2. This is a wonderfully gentle and introspective piece. You’ve taken something as simple as a cup of coffee and transformed it into a symbol of calm, grounding, and quiet self-connection. The imagery is soft yet vivid—the reader can almost feel the warmth of the cup and the hush of those early moments before the world begins its demands.

    1. Thank you so much Vijay ji… for me, it was never really about the coffee. It’s that one quiet moment where I get to sit with myself before the day starts pulling me in every direction. I’m so glad that stillness came through to you.

      1. You’ve expressed that so beautifully. It’s wonderful how you’ve turned a simple cup of coffee into a sacred pause—a moment of calm before the world begins its rush. Those quiet minutes with oneself are often the most meaningful, and I’m truly glad that sense of stillness and intention came through. It’s a gentle reminder that peace isn’t always found in grand moments, but in the soft rituals we create for our souls.

      2. Thank you so much for your kind words 💛✨
I’m really glad that feeling of calm and pause came through. It means a lot to know it resonated with you.🤍✨

  3. So softly written and deeply true.
You’ve transformed a simple cup of coffee into a quiet act of self-anchoring. It’s never really about the drink it’s about the pause, the gentle permission to arrive into the day on your own terms.
“I reach for coffee. Not to escape the day, but to arrive in it.” ☕
That line lingers calm, grounding, and beautifully relatable.
    Warm, reflective, and intimately expressed.

    1. Thank you so much for reading it with such care Vijay ji. I’m really glad that quiet little moment translated the way it was meant to, not as an escape, but as a gentle way of arriving. ☕✨
Your words truly mean a lot.🙏🏻🤍✨

    1. Aww… that’s so sweet of you to say ☕💛✨
I’m really glad it felt like your kind of comfort… tea truly has a way of holding us gently, doesn’t it? 🤍✨

      1. Yes absolutely. Wanted to point out your profile picture illustration is amazing! I often tried and wished I could draw like this unfortunately not my forte. Take care! 😊

      2. Aww, thank you so much! That truly means a lot coming from you 😊 Honestly, I believe everyone has their own creative language — drawing just happens to be mine. I’ve spent years nurturing it (and still learning every day!), so don’t be too hard on yourself. And hey, it’s never too late to surprise yourself with a hidden talent 😉
Take care, and thanks again for your kind words! 🌸
