Who Inspires Me? | Finding Inspiration in Everyday People

A thoughtful woman reflecting on the people who inspire her and the lessons learned from everyday life.

Who are you most inspired by?

Who Inspires Me?

People often ask,

“Who inspires you the most?”

.

As if I keep a secret list

folded inside my handbag

between old receipts and emergency chocolates.

.

The truth?

.

I am inspired by everyone.

Yes, everyone.

The successful teach me ambition.

The unsuccessful teach me patience.

The talkative teach me endurance.

And the quiet ones teach me

that silence can win arguments too.

Some inspire me by what they do.

Others inspire me by providing

a very detailed guide on what not to do.

.

Life is generous that way.

But if there is one group

that leaves me constantly amazed,

it is women.

.

Women who fight battles

while answering phone calls.

Women who carry worries

in one hand and grocery bags in the other.

.

Women who hold families together

using little more than love,

determination,

and occasionally a threatening look.

.

They bend,

they stretch,

they adapt,

and somehow keep going.

Honestly,

if resilience were an Olympic sport,

women would politely collect the gold medal,

organise the ceremony,

serve snacks,

and still apologise for not doing enough.

.

So yes,

I am inspired by everyone.

.

But every day,

women remind me that strength

doesn’t always roar.

Sometimes it smiles,

ties its hair up,

and says,

.

“Right then, what’s next?”

.

Stay curious. The next person you meet might just be your next teacher.

Warmly,
—Rajeshwari

What a delightful and heartfelt piece! I loved the gentle humor woven through your observations—especially the image of a secret list tucked between old receipts and emergency chocolates. It made me smile.

Your message beautifully captures the idea that everyone who crosses our path becomes a teacher in some way. Some inspire us through their achievements, while others offer valuable lessons through their mistakes. That perspective reflects both wisdom and generosity of spirit.

Thank you so much for this lovely reflection Verma ji✨ I smiled when you mentioned the emergency chocolates they seem to have become quite popular! 😊
I agree with you completely. Life has a wonderful way of sending us teachers in unexpected forms. Some inspire us to grow by showing us what is possible, while others quietly teach us what paths not to take. Both leave us wiser than before. Thank you for reading so thoughtfully and for adding your own insight to the conversation. 🤍🙏🏻✨🌷

Hi! 😊 Thank you so much. 🤍 I truly believe that some of life’s best lessons come from people who may never even realize they taught us something. Every person who inspires us leaves behind a little gift whether it’s courage, kindness, wisdom, or simply a new way of looking at life.
I’m glad this thought resonated with you. Thank you for reading and sharing your perspective. 🌷

This is such a lovely and profound piece, Rajeshwari. The way you’ve woven universal inspiration through the lens of quiet, daily strength is truly moving. Your humor—the “emergency chocolates,” the “threatening look,” and the Olympic joke—makes the deep truths land even more warmly.

That final image, “Strength doesn’t always roar. Sometimes it smiles, ties its hair up, and says, ‘Right then, what’s next?’” is absolutely perfect. It’s a line that will stay with readers long after they’ve finished.

Thank you for this gentle reminder to look for teachers everywhere, especially in the unnoticed heroism of everyday life. You’ve captured something very real and very beautiful.

Thank you so much for your kind words Srikanth ji. 🤍✨ It always means a little extra when someone not only reads the words but also connects with the feeling behind them. I’m especially happy that the final line resonated with you.

Sometimes the most remarkable people are the ones quietly carrying on with life, one day at a time. This piece was my small tribute to them. Your thoughtful comment truly made my day. 🌷✨

    Dear Rajestruth ji, 🙏🙏🙏

    A beautiful reflection.

Perhaps the deepest wisdom is to realize that life itself is the guru, and every person we encounter is one of its lessons. Some teach us through their virtues, others through their mistakes; some through their words, others through their silence. The awakened mind learns from all without judgment.

Your tribute to women touches upon a profound truth. Strength is often mistaken for power, yet true strength is the capacity to endure, nurture, adapt, and continue with grace. Like a river, it does not always roar; it quietly shapes mountains.

The more we grow, the less we seek extraordinary teachers, for we begin to recognize that the Divine speaks through ordinary lives. A child, a stranger, a friend, a mother carrying unseen burdens all become mirrors reflecting some aspect of truth.

As the ancient sages observed, the whole universe is a classroom, and humility is the key that opens every door.

Thank you for this gentle reminder that inspiration is not something we find in a few exceptional people it is something we discover when we learn to see deeply.

    Warm regards,
    Vijay

Very nicely written, it’s very true that a person with learning attitude learns from every person and event and when we refuse to learn we may repeat the same mistakes again and again. So it is not age but the learning attitude which makes us wiser and more prepared to face life.

    1. nihshabdblog Avatar

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. 😊 I couldn’t agree more. It is not the passing of years that makes us wiser, but our willingness to learn, reflect, and grow from every experience life offers. 🌷✨
