If the salary was the same, what job would you be doing right now and why?

Apparently, I have already answered this question once—many years ago.

And guess what?

Same answer. 😂

I’d still be a homemaker.

Not because I had some grand plan of becoming one. Life just… happened. I was working, I was happy working, and then I had children.

And somehow, the idea of leaving them at home and going to work never sat quite right with me.

Even with a nanny at home, there was this strange little voice in my head saying, “But you’re their mother. Shouldn’t you be here?”

I tried negotiating with that voice.

It won. Every. Single. Time. 😄

Maybe I wasn’t as strong as I thought I should be. Maybe I should have been more practical, more ambitious, more “I can have it all!”

Well… apparently I couldn’t.

Or perhaps I simply didn’t want to.

Because while I sometimes wonder what my career would look like today, I have absolutely no regrets about the life I chose.

I was happy when I worked.

I am ridiculously, embarrassingly, wonderfully happy being a homemaker now.

So, if the salary was the same?

I’d still choose this job.

Although I’d definitely ask for a salary revision this time.

The cost of living has gone up. The children have grown up. And my unpaid overtime is getting ridiculous. 😂

People often ask,

“Who inspires you the most?”

As if I keep a secret list

folded inside my handbag

between old receipts and emergency chocolates.

The truth?

.

I am inspired by everyone.

Yes, everyone.

The successful teach me ambition.

The unsuccessful teach me patience.

The talkative teach me endurance.

And the quiet ones teach me

that silence can win arguments too.

Some inspire me by what they do.

Others inspire me by providing

a very detailed guide on what not to do.

.

Life is generous that way.

But if there is one group

that leaves me constantly amazed,

it is women.

.

Women who fight battles

while answering phone calls.

Women who carry worries

in one hand and grocery bags in the other.

.

Women who hold families together

using little more than love,

determination,

and occasionally a threatening look.

.

They bend,

they stretch,

they adapt,

and somehow keep going.

Honestly,

if resilience were an Olympic sport,

women would politely collect the gold medal,

organise the ceremony,

serve snacks,

and still apologise for not doing enough.

.

So yes,

I am inspired by everyone.

.

But every day,

women remind me that strength

doesn’t always roar.

Sometimes it smiles,

ties its hair up,

and says,

“Right then, what’s next?”

.

Women & Their Tiny Emotional Treasures

What personal belongings do you hold most dear?

Women get emotionally attached to the strangest things. ✨

An old receipt tucked inside a book.
A dried flower saved between pages for years.
A dupatta that still smells like home.
Tiny notes, movie tickets, gift wrappers, empty perfume bottles “just because,” and boxes filled with memories nobody else would understand. 😭

.

And of course… those clothes that no longer fit but are still hanging safely in the cupboard because “what if I lose weight someday?” 🫣
Every woman has at least one outfit she refuses to give away out of pure hope, delusion, and emotional attachment. 😭

.

Some clothes stay in our cupboards
not because they fit our bodies anymore…
but because they still fit a version of us we’re not ready to let go of. ✨

.

To the rest of the world, it may look like clutter.
But women rarely keep things for their price.
They keep them for the feelings attached to them.

.

A simple object becomes a memory.
A memory becomes comfort.
And comfort quietly becomes impossible to throw away.

.

Women have a beautiful habit of turning ordinary things
into emotional time machines. 🤍

Some women keep their mother’s sarees like inherited pieces of love.
Some keep old letters they pretend they don’t read anymore.
Some keep clothes from happier days,
hoping the feelings stitched into them never fade completely. ✨

And somehow every little thing carries a story:
who they were,

what they lost,
and what they still secretly miss. ✨

Women are funny that way.
They can throw away logic in two seconds…
but will protect a tiny meaningless object for ten years because “it feels special.” 😭🤍

Maybe that’s the beauty of women.
They don’t just live life.
They preserve it softly in corners, drawers, books, fabrics, scents, and silent little treasures the world would never notice.

The “Maybe Later” Life of Women 🤍

What is your career plan?

I had many, honestly.

.

Some days I was supposed to become a famous illustrator.
Some days, a writer.
Sometimes I discover a new talent at 2 a.m. and immediately plan an entire successful future around it before sleeping peacefully like a visionary.

.

Homemakers are actually full of potential.
Dangerous amounts of potential.

.

We can manage homes, budgets, emotions, schedules, disasters, and people who suddenly remember important things exactly when we sit down to rest.

.

But somewhere between taking care of everyone else’s needs and postponing ourselves “just for now,”
our dreams slowly stop sounding like plans…
and start sounding like hobbies we apologize for having.

.

That’s the strange thing about homemakers.
We don’t give up on our dreams dramatically.

.

We just keep moving them to tomorrow so lovingly, so responsibly, so repeatedly…
that one day even the dream starts feeling guilty for existing.

.

And maybe this is true for so many women —
they never really stopped having dreams, ambitions, or career plans.
They just became so busy building everyone else’s life
that their own quietly kept waiting.

.

But I hope they never believe it is “too late” for them.
Because dreams do not expire simply because a woman chose responsibility before herself.

.

And one day, I hope every woman gets to return to the version of herself she once imagined
not as someone selfish,
but as someone finally remembering that her life mattered too. 🤍

Uske hone se shaam khilkhilati hai,

jaise thandi hawa dil ko chhoo jaati hai…

Wo aaye toh raatein bhi roshan ho jaati hain,

aur sitare zameen par utar aate hain…

Kabhi wo khamoshi mein bhi kahaani likh jaati hai,

kabhi hansi se har gham ko bhula jaati hai…

.

Na naam mein simti, na lafzon mein bandhi,

wo ek roshni hai… jo har dil mein jagmagati hai… 🌸

Her presence makes the evening bloom with laughter,

like a gentle breeze that softly touches the heart…

Sometimes she writes stories in silence,

A simple sentence.

Two words.

Unlimited meanings.

Honestly… it should come with subtitles.

Sometimes “I’m fine” means…

I’m not fine, but I don’t have the energy to explain this right now.

Please try again later.

Sometimes it means…

I already explained this once.

If you didn’t understand then…

I don’t have a PowerPoint ready for round two.

.

Sometimes “I’m fine” is just…

I will cry.

But in a very aesthetic, well-timed manner.

Not now.

Not here.

Later.

.

Sometimes it actually means…

I’m fine…

but I’m thinking about 17 other things

that are not fine.

Multitasking… but emotional.

.

And sometimes — rare, very rare —

“I’m fine” actually means…

I am genuinely fine.

Please stay calm.

It happens.

Also… tone matters.

“I’m fine 🙂”

“I’m fine.”

“I’m fine.” (with that silence)

Three completely different situations.

Good luck decoding.

But here’s the real thing…

“I’m fine” is not just a sentence.

It’s a shortcut.

A pause.

A quiet way of saying—

I’ll handle it.

I always do.

Most people instantly think: big houses, luxury cars, vacations, and a life with zero worries.

But if I really listen to my heart, the answer is… different.

It’s not about things.

It’s about life, freedom, and joy the kind that tickles your heart, not your ego.

A Home That Feels Like Magic 🏡

I don’t dream of palaces or marble floors.

I dream of a small, cozy home that hugs you.

A little courtyard where I can plant flowers.

A tree with a swing tied to it

where I can sit, swing gently, and let my stress disappear in a blink.

Mornings filled with birdsong,

the soft hum of bees,

and a space where I can play, laugh, and just exist with my children and my Kiwi.

The house may be small, but it’s alive.

Full of peace.

Full of love.

Full of life.

I don’t need things to feel happy.

Life has already wrapped me in enough safety, comfort, and the quiet joy of being loved.

It would give me the quiet freedom to shape my days the way my heart wants to.

Since I was a child, I’ve seen women work endlessly

carrying homes, children, and sacrifices on their shoulders.

Yet, they never earn enough to stand tall.

If I won the lottery, I would:

Create skill-based opportunities for women

Help them earn with dignity

Let them care for their children and homes confidently

Restore their self-worth

Because when a woman earns:

Families rise Children grow brave Homes feel stable

This is not charity.

This is empowerment from the heart.

Education That Changes Everything📚

Temporary help isn’t enough.

I want roots, not patches.

Skill programs.

Women-led small businesses.

Education for underprivileged children.

Because education doesn’t just change income it changes mindsets, confidence, and futures.

The Simple Joys I’d Treasure 🌸

Even with all comforts, I’d still want the small, silly, magical things:

Swinging on the tree in my courtyard

Watching Kiwi chase butterflies

Playing with my kids and laughing until we cry Feeling the wind, smelling fresh earth after rain

Small moments, but so alive.

This is the dream I’ve carried for years.

Not for show. Not for grandeur.

Just for me, my heart, and the people I love.
