If someone asked me, “What villain actually had a good point?” I’d probably laugh first. Then I’d quietly say, “Mogambo.” Yes, the larger-than-life Bollywood villain with the unforgettable dialogue. Strange as it sounds, growing older has made me realize we weren’t just laughing at him—we were overlooking the one thing he got absolutely right.

What Villain Actually Had a Good Point?
Agreeing with a Bollywood villain feels almost illegal.
It’s like saying,
“Monday is my favourite day.”
Or admitting,
“Traffic builds character.”
Or smiling after seeing,
“Your OTP has expired.”
Some opinions are simply not meant to be spoken aloud.
Yet…
if someone asked me,
“What villain actually had a good point?”
I’d clear my throat…
look around to make sure Gabbar isn’t listening…
and quietly whisper,
“Mogambo.”
Yes.
The man with the ridiculous uniform.
The dramatic laugh.
The world’s most committed shoulder pads.
The One Dialogue We All Laughed At
For years,
we laughed every time he declared,
“Mogambo khush hua!” (Mogambo is pleased.)
Children copied it.
Comedians mimicked it.
Memes kept it alive.
But adulthood…
has a strange habit.

The friend

…and actually means it.
No background music.
No slow-motion entry.
No standing ovation.
Just ordinary people
performing extraordinary kindness
so quietly
that the world mistakes it for routine.
What Villain Actually Had a Good Point?
Perhaps…
that’s why Mogambo smiled.
Not because his plans worked.
Not because he ruled the world.
But because…
for one brief moment,
someone noticed him.
Think about it.
When was the last time
someone looked at you
and said,
“I saw your effort.”
“Thank you.”
“You made today easier.”
Not,
“You’re amazing.”
Just…
“I noticed.”
Funny, isn’t it?
We chase promotions,
likes,
followers,
certificates,
bonuses…
when sometimes,
one genuine
“I’m glad you’re here.”
heals a heart
more than all of them combined.
Maybe the Villain Was Right…
No…
I’m not defending the missiles.
Or the evil plans.
Or that unforgettable fashion disaster.
Let’s not get carried away.
But this one thing?
I’ll give him that.
Every heart—
whether it belongs to a child,
a parent,
a homemaker,
a teacher,
a nurse,
a driver,
or the quiet soul who keeps everyone else going—
wants to feel
seen.
Because appreciation
isn’t about feeding someone’s ego.
It’s about feeding someone’s spirit.
A flower doesn’t bloom because you command it to.
It blooms
because someone remembered to water it.
People aren’t very different.
And perhaps…
that’s the joke Bollywood never intended us to understand.
We spent years laughing whenever he said,
