  • My Most Annoying Trope Isn’t Even in a Movie 😏

My Most Annoying Trope Isn’t Even in a Movie 😏

    Daily writing prompt
What’s the most annoying trope in books or movies?

🌸 Some Flowers Just Bloom Differently

What’s the most annoying trope in books or movies?

    I have no idea.
I’m probably the least qualified person to answer this.

I don’t watch enough movies to develop strong opinions about fictional people making terrible decisions for two hours. 😂

Honestly, there are far more interesting things to do.

    Like reading.
    Writing.
    Thinking.
    Overthinking.
And occasionally having a completely unnecessary argument with myself—and winning. 😌

But if life had its own annoying trope?

    Oh, I have a nomination.

    Comparison.

That strange habit of looking at someone else’s life and wondering why ours doesn’t look quite as polished.

We tell ourselves not to compare, and then casually open Instagram at 9 a.m. and begin comparing before breakfast. 😂

Maybe we need this reminder instead—

Some Flowers Just Bloom Differently 🌸

    They say,
    “Don’t compare yourself.”

    And I agree.
    Absolutely.
    Completely.

    Until I see someone’s life
    looking suspiciously sorted
    at 9 a.m. on Instagram.

    Then my brain goes—

    “Interesting.
    Should we panic now
    or after breakfast?” đŸ˜Œ

    One flower blooms in spring,
    another takes its sweet time.

One stands tall in the sunshine,
    another quietly grows
    where nobody even notices.

    Some are roses,
    some are wildflowers,
    some are tiny little things
    growing stubbornly
through a crack in the wall.

And then there are people like us—
    still figuring out
    whether we are blooming
    or simply surviving
    with good lighting. 😂

    But perhaps
    we were never meant
    to be the same flower.

    Maybe your beauty
was never supposed to look like mine.

    Maybe my journey
was never supposed to match yours.

    So let her bloom early.
Let him reach the finish line first.

    Let someone else have
    the perfect petals,
    the perfect timing,
    the perfect life.

    You?

    Take your time.

    Grow crooked if you must.
    Bloom late.
    Lose a few petals.
    Start again.

Because a flower doesn’t stand beside another flower
    and whisper,

“Damn… why am I not blooming like her?”

    It simply blooms.

And maybe that’s the little reminder we all need today—

you don’t have to become someone else’s beautiful.
You only have to become beautifully, unapologetically,
    you. 🌸❤️

    Your turn…

What’s one thing you wish you would stop comparing yourself with?

Tell me. Maybe we’ll discover that none of us are as “behind” as we think we are. ❤️

P.S. As for movies… I’ll leave the annoying tropes to you people. 😌 I don’t really enjoy watching movies anyway. There’s just too much interesting stuff to do!

    Until The Next Whisper,

  • Learning to Dance with the Waves

Learning to Dance with the Waves

    Life comes in waves.

    Which explains why
    just when you’ve convinced yourself

    “I’ve finally figured life out…

    …the sea quietly laughs.

    And sends another wave.

    Some arrive
    with flowers in their hands.

    Others don’t even knock.

    They simply barge in,
    rearrange your plans,
    borrow your peace,
    and leave without saying goodbye.

    Rude, honestly.

    For the longest time,
    I thought the secret
    was finding calm waters.

    Then life smiled and said,

    “No, dear…

    the trick is learning
    not to spill your coffee
    every time the boat rocks.”

    So you learn.

    You stop arguing
    with every wave.

    You stop asking,

    “Why me?”

    Because, quite frankly,

the sea has terrible customer service.

    It never answers.

    Instead,

    it teaches.

    It teaches that
    not every delay
    is a disaster.

    Not every goodbye
    is a punishment.

    Not every storm
    has your name on it.

    Some are simply
    passing through.

    And somewhere
    between holding on
    and letting go,

    you discover
    that you were never
    becoming fearless.

    You were simply
    becoming someone

    who could smile,

    fix the sail,

    and whisper,

    “Well…
    that was interesting.”

    before rowing on.

    Because life
    has never promised
    a sea without waves.

    Only the chance
    to become
    someone who knows

    how to dance with them.🦋

  • The Places I Miss Don’t Exist on Any Map.

The Places I Miss Don’t Exist on Any Map.

What are your top 10 travel destinations?

My Top 10 Travel Destinations Aren’t All Marked on a Map

Not every journey begins with a boarding pass,
    and not every destination
can be found on a map.

    Some places
    live only in memory,
yet they keep calling us back.

    I want to travel
to the house where I grew up—

where every wall knew my laughter,
every corner hid a childhood adventure,
    and every evening arrived
with the promise of one more game before sunset.

    I want to return
    to my grandmother’s kitchen,

    where recipes were whispered,
    not written,
    and love always arrived
on a warm plate before words did.

    I want to lose myself
    in a little bookstore,

    where hours slipped quietly
    between the pages,
    and the only deadline
    was the last chapter.

    I want to visit
    the monsoon afternoons of childhood,

    when paper boats believed
    they could cross oceans,
    and getting drenched
    was never considered a mistake.

    I want to find
the terrace beneath a sky full of stars,

    where electricity cuts
    felt less like an inconvenience
    and more like an invitation
    to count constellations
that we never really knew the names of.

    I want to walk again
    through the narrow lanes

where every neighbour knew my name,
    every festival belonged to everyone,
    and every door
    felt a little like home.

I want to sit once more
    beneath the old tree

    that heard my secrets,
    celebrated my victories,
    and patiently watched
my impossible dreams grow taller than its branches.

    I want to spend
    one more carefree summer,

    where mangoes stained our hands,
    icy treats coloured our tongues,
    and happiness cost
less than a handful of coins.

    I want to stand
    beside the sea,

    not to watch the waves,
    but to watch myself
    forget the urge
    to check the time.

    And above all,

    I want to meet
    the version of myself 🦋
    I left behind somewhere—

    the one who laughed
    without worrying who was watching,
    trusted without hesitation,
    dreamed without calculating,
    and believed
    that tomorrow would always wait.

    Perhaps the greatest destinations
    are not countries or cities.

    They are forgotten afternoons,
    unfinished conversations,
    the fragrance of home,
    the warmth of familiar hands,
    and the pieces of ourselves
we spend a lifetime trying to find again.

    Because the most unforgettable journeys
    don’t always require a passport.

    Sometimes,
    they simply ask us
    to close our eyes…
    and remember.🦋✨

Every Soul Leaves Something Behind |

    Every Soul Leaves Something Behind

    Life is a long journey…

    And perhaps none of us
    crosses another’s path
    by accident.

    Some people arrive
only to open a window within us
that we never knew had been closed.

    Some leave,
    yet in their leaving,
    they introduce us
to a strength we never knew we had.

    There are those
who stay for only a handful of moments,
    yet leave behind memories
    that outlive years.

    And then there are those
who are like the morning light—
they quietly become a part of our days,
    asking for nothing,
yet giving us countless reasons to keep going.

    Maybe that’s why
    I no longer believe
that meeting someone is mere coincidence.

    Because fate
    doesn’t just send people.

    It sends lessons.
    It sends healing.
    It sends mirrors
that help us see ourselves more clearly.

And every once in a while,
    it sends someone
who quietly changes the way we see life.

    So, to those who stayed…
    thank you.

And to those who had to leave…
    thank you, too.

    Because every traveller
becomes a part of someone else’s story
before continuing on their own journey.

    And perhaps,
    that was the reason
they were meant to cross our path.

  • If I Had to Be an Animal for a Week | A Butterfly’s Lesson

If I Had to Be an Animal for a Week | A Butterfly’s Lesson

If you had to be an animal for a week, which one would you be and why?

If I Had to Be an Animal for a Week…

    A butterfly 🦋

    .

    Not because she’s beautiful.

But because she has absolutely no idea that she is.

    .

She doesn’t fly past flowers thinking,
“Good morning, everyone. Kindly admire my wings.”

    .

    No.

    .

She simply wanders from bloom to bloom,
    living her tiny, colorful life
    without checking mirrors,
    without counting likes,
    without asking,
“Do these wings make me look fat?”

(Imagine if butterflies had social media.
    “Just hatched. No filter.” 🦋)

    .

    The funny part?

    Nobody applauds the caterpillar.

    .

    Let’s be honest.

    .

If a caterpillar applied for a beauty pageant,
even the leaves would politely excuse themselves.

    .

But then comes the quiet miracle.

    The waiting.

    The breaking.

    The transformation.

    And suddenly…
the same little creature that once crawled
    begins to fly.

    .

Gold becomes pure only after enduring fire.

    .

A butterfly becomes beautiful only after surviving its cocoon.

    .

Maybe we are not so different.

Most of us never realize how much we’ve grown.

    .

    We keep showing up.

    We keep loving.

    We keep healing.

    We keep surviving.

    .

We rarely notice the strength we’ve earned
or the beauty that quietly settled into our souls.

    .

Someone else sees it long before we do.

    .

So today, this little butterfly is for everyone who still thinks they are “just a caterpillar.”

    .

    your transformation is already happening.

    .

You don’t have to rush it.

You don’t even have to see your own wings yet.

    .

    Just keep becoming.

One day you’ll look back and realize…

It was never the wings that made you beautiful.

It was everything you survived before you learned to fly.

    .

    🦋 Before the Butterfly Flew…

So perhaps the butterfly’s greatest lesson is this:

    Be grateful for the cocoon.

Without it, there would never have been wings.

  • The Art of Never Stopping Wonder

The Art of Never Stopping Wonder

    I have a tiny problem.

    .

    I refuse to outgrow curiosity.

    .

    While sensible adults
    are busy pretending
they have life all figured out,

    .

    I’m still the person asking,

    “Ooh… what’s that?”

    .

    I have Googled things
I absolutely didn’t need to know.

    .

    Why octopuses have three hearts.

    Why bread smells so good.

Why socks disappear in the washing machine.

(That last one is clearly a conspiracy.)

I read signboards in unfamiliar streets.

Open books just because the title winks at me.

    Take the longer route home…

just to see what I’ve been missing.

    People call it distraction.

    I call it field research.

    .

    I collect tiny adventures
the way some people collect souvenirs.

    .

    A new word.

    A forgotten lane.

    A cafĂŠ chosen
simply because it smelled like stories.

    .

    I’ve started conversations
    with old books,
    street cats,
    my houseplants,
    and yes…
    they all seem
    better listeners than some humans.

    .

    Curiosity has an expensive hobby.

    .

    It steals my time,
    fills my phone with screenshots,
    opens thirty browser tabs,
    and somehow convinces me
    that I absolutely must know
    how astronauts wash their hair,
why flamingos stand on one leg,
    or who decided
    pineapple belonged on pizza.

    .

    My search history
    could confuse a detective.

    .

    Honestly…

    .

    what a delightful way
    to confuse one.

    .

    Life has taught me
    that the best discoveries
rarely arrive with a grand announcement.

    .

    Sometimes they hide
    inside a conversation with a stranger…

    .

a recipe from an old aunt…

    a child’s impossible question…

    .

    or a wrong turn
    that somehow feels exactly right.

    .

    The day I stop wondering,

    “What happens if…?”

    .

    someone should check my pulse.

    .

    Because I don’t want a life
where every page is already highlighted.

    .

    I want dog-eared corners.

    Unexpected chapters.

    And enough curiosity
    to keep annoying algorithms
that think they’ve already figured me out.

    .

    After all,

the world is far too interesting

to behave like I already know it.

    .

    So yes…

    .

    I am a lifelong learner.

Not because I want all the answers—

    but because being an explorer
    is far more fun
than pretending to be an expert.

  • Be Your Own Therapist | A Poem on Self-Healing

Be Your Own Therapist | A Poem on Self-Healing

Be Your Own Therapist is a heartfelt poem about self-healing, emotional strength, and finding peace within. Sometimes, the person who understands you best is your own heart.

    .

    Be Your Own Therapist💗

Not every wound asks for witnesses.
Some only long for your gentle touch.
The heart doesn’t always need answers…
    Sometimes, it only needs acceptance.

Be Your Own Therapist: Self-Healing Begins Within

The world may hear your words,
but only you can hear the silence between them.
    Sit with your pain.
    Listen without judgment.
Be kind to the soul that has carried you this far.

    Understand Yourself First

Not everyone will understand your battles,
    and that is perfectly alright.
You don’t have to explain every scar
to prove that it once hurt.

    The strongest conversations
    are often the quiet ones
    you have with yourself.

    Choose Yourself Every Day

    Be your own safe place.
    Your own comfort.
    Your own reminder
    that healing isn’t loud—
    it blooms softly,
just like the quietest flower after the longest storm.

    When Silence Speaks

    There will be days
when your smile feels heavier than your tears,
    when your voice trembles
even in the quiet of your own room.

    On those days,
    don’t abandon yourself.
    Sit beside your broken heart
the way you would sit beside someone you love.

    Healing Is a Gentle Journey

    Healing doesn’t arrive overnight.
    It comes in small moments—
    when you forgive yourself,
when you stop chasing everyone’s approval,
    and when you finally realize
that your peace is worth protecting.

Every gentle step you take toward yourself
is a victory no one else can measure,
but your soul will always remember.

    .

Sometimes healing is not about fixing yourself. It is about sitting quietly with your emotions, accepting every broken piece, and trusting that even the deepest wounds soften with time. The love you keep searching for outside often begins within your own heart.

    Closing Thoughts

When the world cannot understand your heart, let your heart become the place where you are always understood.

    .

    Until the next story… 🤍

  • The Hard Years: Not the Final Chapter

The Hard Years: Not the Final Chapter

    Daily writing prompt
What’s a chapter of your life you’d title "The Hard Years" — and what got you through it?

The Hard Years: Not the Final Chapter

    .

Hard Years don’t always arrive with a warning. They quietly become a chapter of our lives where every day feels a little heavier than the last. If you’ve ever lived through The Hard Years, you know they don’t just change your circumstances—they change you.

    When Life Quietly Changes You

Have you ever looked back and realised there was a season that quietly changed everything?

    .

    Not one terrible day.

    .

    Not one heartbreaking moment.

    .

But a chapter that stretched longer than you ever expected.

    .

If I had to give it a name, I’d call it The Hard Years.

    .

They’re the years when you keep showing up, even when you’re running on empty. You smile because people expect you to. You answer, “I’m fine,” because explaining the truth feels exhausting.

    .

From the outside, life looks ordinary.

    .

Inside, you’re simply trying to make it through another day.

    The Battles No One Sees

The hardest battles are rarely visible.

    .

Someone is grieving while attending family dinners.

    .

Someone is worrying about bills while laughing with friends.

    .

Someone is carrying fear behind a perfectly normal conversation.

    .

That’s the strange thing about The Hard Years.

    .

They teach us how much people can hide behind a smile.

    .

Maybe that’s why kindness matters so much.

    .

We never really know what chapter someone else is living through.

Hope Doesn’t Always Make a Grand Entrance

Looking back, I realised hope never arrived like a miracle.

    .

    It came quietly.

    .

A cup of tea on a difficult evening.

    .

A message from someone who somehow knew I needed it.

    .

    The smell of rain.

    A familiar song.

    A peaceful sunrise.

    .

None of these things changed my life overnight.

    .

But they reminded me that even difficult seasons have moments worth holding on to.

    .

Sometimes, hope isn’t about escaping the darkness.

    .

It’s about finding one small reason to keep walking through it.

The Chapter That Never Got the Last Word

People often say difficult times make us stronger.

    .

I think they make us gentler.

    .

They teach us to listen more carefully, judge less quickly, and appreciate ordinary days we once took for granted.

    .

Every life has a chapter called The Hard Years.

    .

Some chapters last longer than others.

    .

    Some leave deeper scars.

    .

But none of them were ever meant to be the ending.

    .

One day, you’ll look back and realise those years didn’t just test your strength.

    .

    They revealed it.

    .

And perhaps that’s the most beautiful plot twist of all.

    .

The Hard Years were never the final chapter.

    .

They were simply the pages that made the next ones worth reading.

What’s a Book You Think Deserves a Sequel? My Bank Passbook!

If My Bank Passbook Had a Sequel—I’d buy it without reading the reviews. Forget fantasy novels and bestselling classics. The only book I truly want a sequel to is my bank passbook, preferably with more deposits, fewer bills, and a guaranteed happy ending.

    .

Most people would choose a timeless classic.
I didn’t even have to think twice.

    .

    Mine is… my bank passbook.

    .

    Once upon a payday,
    it opened with great delight.
    The numbers smiled,
    the future looked bright.

    .

    Then entered the villains—
    rent, groceries, bills,
    school expenses,
    and those irresistible online thrills.

    .

    Every chapter grew thinner,
    every page sighed,
    my balance became
    something it preferred to hide.

    .

    The ATM looked at me
    with quiet sympathy.
Even the receipt seemed to whisper,
    “We’ll get through this… hopefully.”

    .

    So yes,
what’s a book you think deserves a sequel?

    .

    My bank passbook.

    .

    I’m waiting for the edition

“Relax… this story has a happy ending.”

    .

    Until then,
    I’ll keep turning the pages,
    hoping the next chapter
    is written by good luck…

Strange as it sounds, growing older has made me realize we weren’t just laughing at him—we were overlooking the one thing he got absolutely right.

    .

What Villain Actually Had a Good Point?

Agreeing with a Bollywood villain feels almost illegal.

    It’s like saying,

    “Monday is my favourite day.”

    Or admitting,

    “Traffic builds character.”

    Or smiling after seeing,

    “Your OTP has expired.”

Some opinions are simply not meant to be spoken aloud.

    Yet…

    if someone asked me,

“What villain actually had a good point?”

    I’d clear my throat…

look around to make sure Gabbar isn’t listening…

    and quietly whisper,

    “Mogambo.”

    Yes.

The man with the ridiculous uniform.

    The dramatic laugh.

The world’s most committed shoulder pads.

The One Dialogue We All Laughed At

    For years,

we laughed every time he declared,

“Mogambo khush hua!” (Mogambo is pleased.)

    Children copied it.

    Comedians mimicked it.

    Memes kept it alive.

    But adulthood…

    has a strange habit.

    It takes old movie dialogues,

    dusts them off,

    and suddenly whispers,

    “Listen carefully this time.”

    Because maybe…

    Mogambo wasn’t celebrating evil.

    Maybe…

he was celebrating something much smaller.

Something all of us quietly crave.

    To be appreciated.

The Real Plot Twist Nobody Noticed

    Look around.

    Your mother serves hot rotis

    while eating hers cold.

    Nobody claps.

Your father fixes a leaking tap,

    pays another bill,

    pretends he isn’t tired.

    Nobody notices.

    The office colleague

    who remembers everyone’s birthday.

    The security guard

who greets every resident before sunrise.

    The teacher

    who stays back after class

for the student who’s afraid to ask questions.

    The friend

    who says,

“Call me if you need anything.”

    …and actually means it.

    No background music.

    No slow-motion entry.

    No standing ovation.

    Just ordinary people

    performing extraordinary kindness

    so quietly

that the world mistakes it for routine.

What Villain Actually Had a Good Point?

    Perhaps…

    that’s why Mogambo smiled.

    Not because his plans worked.

Not because he ruled the world.

    But because…

    for one brief moment,

    someone noticed him.

    Think about it.

    When was the last time

    someone looked at you

    and said,

    “I saw your effort.”

    “Thank you.”

    “You made today easier.”

    Not,

    “You’re amazing.”

    Just…

    “I noticed.”

    Funny, isn’t it?

    We chase promotions,

    likes,

    followers,

    certificates,

    bonuses…

    when sometimes,

    one genuine

    “I’m glad you’re here.”

    heals a heart

more than all of them combined.

    Maybe the Villain Was Right…

    No…

    I’m not defending the missiles.

    Or the evil plans.

    Or that unforgettable fashion disaster.

    Let’s not get carried away.

    But this one thing?

    I’ll give him that.

    Every heart—

whether it belongs to a child,

    a parent,

    a homemaker,

    a teacher,

    a nurse,

    a driver,

or the quiet soul who keeps everyone else going—

    wants to feel

    seen.

    Because appreciation

    isn’t about feeding someone’s ego.

    It’s about feeding someone’s spirit.

A flower doesn’t bloom because you command it to.

    It blooms

because someone remembered to water it.

    People aren’t very different.

    And perhaps…

that’s the joke Bollywood never intended us to understand.

We spent years laughing whenever he said,

    “Mogambo khush hua.”

    Maybe we were laughing

    because we thought

    only villains wanted appreciation.

    Then life happened.

    Now we secretly wait

    for the same three words—

    not from strangers,

    not from the whole world,

    but from someone who knows

    how hard we’ve been trying.

    So…

    if you ever see someone

quietly carrying more than they talk about…

don’t wait for an award ceremony.

Don’t wait for a farewell speech.

    Don’t wait until they’re gone.

    Tell them today.

    “I noticed.”

    “Thank you.”

    “You matter.”

    Because perhaps…

the greatest heroes don’t need louder applause.

They just need to know their silent battles were never invisible.

And if a Bollywood villain had to remind us of something so beautifully human…

    then maybe…

    just maybe…

Mogambo really did have one good point. ❤️

    .

Keep noticing the quiet heroes around you. ❤️
