Be Your Own Therapist | A Poem on Self-Healing

A thoughtful woman sitting by a window, reflecting quietly with the title Be Your Own Therapist by Nihshabd.

Be Your Own Therapist is a heartfelt poem about self-healing, emotional strength, and finding peace within. Sometimes, the person who understands you best is your own heart.

.

Be Your Own Therapist💗

Not every wound asks for witnesses.
Some only long for your gentle touch.
The heart doesn’t always need answers…
Sometimes, it only needs acceptance.

Be Your Own Therapist: Self-Healing Begins Within

The world may hear your words,
but only you can hear the silence between them.
Sit with your pain.
Listen without judgment.
Be kind to the soul that has carried you this far.

Understand Yourself First

Not everyone will understand your battles,
and that is perfectly alright.
You don’t have to explain every scar
to prove that it once hurt.

The strongest conversations
are often the quiet ones
you have with yourself.

Choose Yourself Every Day

Be your own safe place.
Your own comfort.
Your own reminder
that healing isn’t loud—
it blooms softly,
just like the quietest flower after the longest storm.

When Silence Speaks

There will be days
when your smile feels heavier than your tears,
when your voice trembles
even in the quiet of your own room.

On those days,
don’t abandon yourself.
Sit beside your broken heart
the way you would sit beside someone you love.

Healing Is a Gentle Journey

Healing doesn’t arrive overnight.
It comes in small moments—
when you forgive yourself,
when you stop chasing everyone’s approval,
and when you finally realize
that your peace is worth protecting.

Every gentle step you take toward yourself
is a victory no one else can measure,
but your soul will always remember.

.

Sometimes healing is not about fixing yourself. It is about sitting quietly with your emotions, accepting every broken piece, and trusting that even the deepest wounds soften with time. The love you keep searching for outside often begins within your own heart.

Closing Thoughts

When the world cannot understand your heart, let your heart become the place where you are always understood.

.

Until the next story… 🤍

A beautifully compassionate and uplifting piece. I especially loved the message that true healing begins with self-acceptance and kindness toward ourselves. Your gentle words remind us that inner peace grows quietly, one small step at a time.

Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt reflection that offers hope, comfort, and encouragement to anyone on a healing journey. 🤍🌿

    Great sharing.

Yes it is the individual who can understand himself fully not others, we need to sit with ourselves, when there is nobody else present, we need to be with ourselves and not alone.

Thanks again for sharing such wonderful thoughts.

    Good morning, Rajeshwari! ☀️

Your message has touched me. True healing begins with self-acceptance, not about fixing ourselves. It’s a really relatable poem! 👍

My plans are going very well so far. I hope to be able to finish this week’s plans so that I can then wrap it up nicely. Next week is going to be exciting!

Have a nice weekend, Rajeshwari! ☺️

Rajeshwari, this is absolutely beautiful. 💗

Your words feel like a warm hug for the soul. ‘The strongest conversations are often the quiet ones you have with yourself’—that line especially hit deep. It’s such a gentle reminder that we don’t always need to be fixed, we just need to be held, even if it’s by our own hands.

Thank you for sharing this. It’s not just a poem—it’s a mirror for anyone who’s ever felt lost in their own silence. The way you’ve woven self-compassion into every line is truly a gift. Keep writing, keep healing, keep being your own safe place. You’re touching hearts with your words. 🤍✨

A profoundly moving reflection, Rajeshwari ji. What touched me most is that this piece does not treat healing as a problem to be solved, but as a relationship to be nurtured. True therapy begins the moment we stop resisting our inner experience and start observing it with compassion. The deepest transformation rarely comes from changing our circumstances; it comes from changing the quality of our awareness. When we become a gentle witness to our own pain, silence itself begins to heal what words never could. Thank you for reminding us that the safest place we can ever discover is not somewhere in the world, but within our own awakened heart. Beautifully written.

    Wise words.

It is very important to be true to yourself not only when you are broken but also when things are in order. The therapy is not seasonal it is continuous.

Having said that it’s the most difficult thing to be honest with your own self. If anyone is able to achieve that it’s only the person looking inside himself.

You have captured my life in this poem Rajeshwari🥹. It most 4 decades to learn to learn the lesson but once I did, everything struggle, every scar, every pain felt seen and finally understood.

The closing lines… “When the world cannot understand your heart, let your heart become the place where you are always understood.”
encapsulates everything everyone strives for in their lives yet so few attain. This one is a hard hitter and that’s why a keeper. A must save for those days that need us to switch on our self- therapist mode!
