How to Manage Stress Through Music and Humour

How to manage stress through music and humour with a woman enjoying music

How do you manage stress?

How Do I Manage Stress? We Have a Complicated Relationship! 😂

How to manage stress? Well, stress and I have a very old relationship. We know each other a little too well. It keeps coming back into my life, uninvited, as if it owns the place. And honestly, I have stopped asking it to knock before entering.

We sit together, share our sukh dukh, discuss all the problems in my life, and spend hours overthinking things that may never even happen.

But here’s the funny part. After two days of this emotional drama, we break up!

I decide I have had enough. I stop entertaining its nonsense and turn to things that make me happy. And the biggest credit for these breakups goes to music! 🎶 There is a different kind of magic in it. Sometimes, all it takes is one of my favourite old Bollywood songs to make the stress disappear, lift my mood, and transport me to my own little happy world. ❤️

I also write a little or remind myself that not every problem needs to be solved today.

And just like that, stress and I go our separate ways.

Of course, the breakup is never permanent. Stress has a terrible habit of returning without an apology. And I, apparently, have a soft corner for bad relationships! 😂

But over the years, I have learnt that how to manage stress isn’t about having a life without problems. It means knowing when to stop giving those problems free accommodation in your head.

Some things need a solution. Some need time. And some need us to stop thinking about them for five minutes and have a cup of coffee instead.

So, how do I manage stress? I let myself feel it, have a little conversation with it, and then show it the door. For me, music, writing, and a little humour make how to manage stress feel less like a challenge and more like learning to live with life’s ups and downs.

After all, life is already complicated enough. I cannot afford to be in a committed relationship with stress!

Now, tell me your story! ❤️

If stress knocked on your door today, what would you do? Would you invite it in for a cup of tea, listen to your favourite song and send it packing, or pretend you aren’t home? 😂

Tell me in the comments: What is your one tried-and-tested way of dealing with stress? Is it music, a long walk, talking to someone you love, or simply sitting quietly with a cup of coffee?

Who knows? Your little trick might be exactly what someone else needs today. Let’s share a little laughter, a little wisdom, and remind each other that none of us has to figure it all out alone. 🦋✨

The way you described your relationship with stress is so relatable and hilarious! 😂❤️ Sometimes, all we need is music, a little humour, and a reminder that not every problem needs to be solved today. Loved the line about not being in a committed relationship with stress! 😂🎶💗

Rajeshwari ji, The real victory is not learning how to keep stress out of our lives, but refusing to let it become the author of our story. Your humour carries a profound truth: we cannot always silence life’s storms, but we can choose what deserves our peace. And sometimes, an old song says what a thousand words cannot. Beautifully expressed

Thank you so much Vijay ji for such beautiful words 🤍 You’ve expressed it so wonderfully. We may not be able to control everything life throws at us, but we can learn to face it with a little more patience and a lot less worry. And yes, sometimes an old song and a little laughter can heal what words cannot. 🎶🦋✨

*I cannot afford to be in a committed relationship with stress!*

Exactly my words before I bid it goodbye aometime.ago.

If stress were to knock at my door now, I would invite it warmly, hand it a nice cup of chamomile and lavender tea, let it rest its head on my shoulder and allow it to share its stresses with me! Why? Coz I am a pro at handling it babe. Been there, done that. I’m a war veteran at stress handling situations. Obviously I am qualified to play therapist to stress itself!! 😎

Lovely, hilarious post Rajeshwariji. Thank you for reminding me how far I have come from being in a toxic relationship with stress and for imagining I deserved it!! 🙈🙊

Hahaha, now that’s a beautiful plot twist 😂 From being stress’s victim to becoming its therapist. So happy you’ve found your peace, Lalitha 🦋✨

Great, stress comes to conquer us, it disturbs the rhythm of our breathing, we have to avoid falling in it’s trap.

Like as it wants that we focus on it, we need to take our focus away from it, like we may observe our breathing and in this process bring it back to normal rhythm, reverse counting, listening to music are also activities through which we can tell it that we don’t care about you.

    1. nihshabdblog Avatar

Absolutely 😊 The trick is not to give stress more attention than it deserves. Sometimes, a little music and a few deep breaths can make a world of difference. 🙏🏻🎶

Music is the best answer! 🤍 I’m way past stress and deep in burnout, and I blame not having enough music in my life for it 😅

Haha, time to prescribe yourself a double dose of music and a little me-time 😂🤍🎶 Hope you get to recharge soon 🤍

Rajeshwari, this is such a beautifully written and relatable post! 😂 The way you describe your ‘complicated relationship’ with stress as a bad ex who keeps coming back without knocking is absolutely spot on. I completely agree that old Bollywood songs have a magical healing power—there is truly nothing a good classic track can’t fix! 🎶❤️

The line ‘knowing when to stop giving those problems free accommodation in your head’ is such a powerful takeaway. If stress knocked on my door today, I’d definitely pretend I’m not home, put on my favorite playlist, and brew a hot cup of coffee! ☕🎧

Thank you for sharing this. It’s a great reminder that we don’t have to solve everything today. Here’s to more ‘breakups’ with stress and finding our own little happy worlds! 🦋✨
