What Are Five Simple Exercises to Do at Home?
A Mom’s Honest Version! 😂
If you ask me what the simple exercises to do at home are, especially when you’re a busy mom, my list would look something like this.
You don’t need a fancy gym or expensive equipment for these easy exercises at home. Sometimes, all you need is a little space—and whatever time you can steal from your children! 😂
1. Simple Exercises to Do at Home: Wall Push-ups
Simple, easy and no equipment. Just look at the wall and think—
“Today, I’m definitely going to do it!” 😄
They help strengthen your chest, shoulders and arms without putting too much pressure on your joints.
2. Simple Exercises to Do at Home: Glute Bridges
A little exercise, a little stretching… and a little thinking about what to pack for the kids’ school tomorrow. 😂
As a result, they help strengthen your glutes, hips and lower back while improving overall lower-body strength.
And as a bonus, you might even solve the next day’s tiffin problem while doing them! 😂
3. Simple Exercises to Do at Home: Squats
Moms already do squats so many times a day—
“Pick this up from the floor… pick that up too… who threw this here?”
Now we’re just giving it the official name of exercise. 😁
Besides strengthening your legs and glutes, squats can also make everyday movements easier.
4. Simple Exercises to Do at Home: Jumping Jacks
And if you have two boys, believe me, you don’t need any explanation about the importance of cardio.
Running after them is enough! 😂
Only a mother of two boys will understand this. He he he!
At the same time, they’re a simple way to get your heart rate up and your whole body moving.
5. Yoga & Breathing Exercises for Busy Moms 🧘♀️
Especially breathing exercises.
Because sometimes, a mom needs deep breathing more than exercise. 😂
“One… two… three… breathe in… and breathe out all the nonsense the kids just did!” 😁
Yoga and breathing exercises can help with flexibility, relaxation and stress management.
For women looking for simple home exercises, yoga and mindful breathing can also be a gentle way to add movement and relaxation to a busy day.

And one little piece of advice for every mom… ❤️
Give yourself a few quiet minutes for meditation.
Meditation may not technically be an exercise, but it can be a beautiful form of mental rest.
Even 5–10 minutes of sitting quietly, focusing on your breath and allowing your thoughts to settle can help you pause, relax and become more mindful of how you’re feeling.
For busy moms, those few quiet minutes can feel like a tiny vacation without actually leaving the house. ❤️
And honestly, mothers spend so much of their day taking care of everyone else.
Sometimes, you need to sit with yourself too. ❤️
No cooking.
No cleaning.
No “Mumma, where is my…?” 😂
No repeating the same instruction for the 101st time.
Just you, your breath and a few quiet minutes.
Think of it as putting your mind on silent mode for a little while. 😌🧘♀️
Because honestly, as a mom, finding time for exercise feels no less than going on an expedition.
Running after the kids,
repeating the same thing 100 times,
and putting back all the things they have thrown around…
We get tired too, guys! 😂
And please don’t think we haven’t trained them to put things back in their place.
We absolutely have.
Properly. 😌
It’s just that whatever they think is actually important somehow finds its way back to its place on its own.
The rest?
Apparently, that’s not their headache. 😂😂
So, for a homemaker, expecting ourselves to find time for exercise can sometimes feel like preparing to go to war.
Still…
For our own satisfaction,
for ourselves,
and to stay fit…
we do manage to squeeze in some exercise. ❤️
Because staying active isn’t just about looking fit.
It is important for your body, your mind and your overall well-being.
A Simple 10-Minute Mom Workout 🌸
If you’re wondering how to actually fit these simple exercises to do at home into a busy day, don’t overcomplicate it.
Try this beginner-friendly routine:
- Wall Push-ups: 8–10 reps
- Glute Bridges: 10–12 reps
- Squats: 8–10 reps
- Jumping Jacks: 20–30 seconds
- Yoga or Breathing Exercises: 2–3 minutes
- Meditation: 5 minutes, if you have the time
You don’t have to do everything perfectly, and you don’t have to finish the whole routine every single day.
Even 10 minutes of movement is better than waiting for that mythical “free time” that somehow never arrives when you’re a mom. 😂
Start small. Stay consistent. Listen to your body.
A gentle reminder ❤️
You don’t have to exercise until you’re exhausted for it to count. Start at a comfortable level and gradually increase the intensity as you feel able.
If you have an injury, ongoing pain, dizziness, or a health condition, speak with your doctor before starting a new exercise routine.
Consistency matters more than perfection. 🌸
So, dear moms—
Even if you get just 10 minutes, don’t consider it a waste.
Sometimes, those 10 minutes can change the mood of your entire day. 🌸
And if you have two boys…
God bless you. 😂❤️
What does your “mom workout” look like on a busy day?
Tell me in the comments—I’m sure I’m not the only one counting chasing children as cardio! 😂
