Unwinding? Not in This House 😅

How do you unwind after a demanding day?

Unwind?
With kids?
That too boys? 😪

.

Unwinding is a beautiful concept…
just not available in this household.

.

Because here,
silence is suspicious.
Very suspicious.

.

If there’s noise—problem.
If there’s no noise—bigger problem 😅

.

Somewhere there’s a cushion fight happening,
somewhere the floor has turned into a racetrack,
and every few minutes
“Mom, look at this!!!” like it’s breaking news.

.

And right in the middle of all this chaos
last minute printouts,
last minute diary signatures,
last minute “I have a project due tomorrow… by the way.”

.

Perfect timing. Always.

.

Honestly, if those Insta delivery apps didn’t exist,
I might have simply disappeared one day 😄

.

So yeah… quick shoutout
thanks for saving me just in time… every single time 🙃

.

And after all this…
unwind?

.

By the time the house finally goes quiet
toys everywhere, energy gone, silence restored
I just sit there for a moment…

.

and realise…

.

this noise, this madness, this endless “mommm”…
isn’t just chaos.

.

It’s my life.
Loud, messy, unpredictable…
and somehow… the softest place I know 🤍✨

.

A tired mother sits on the floor covering her ears while her two young boys play noisily around her, one hitting a pillow and the other jumping excitedly, with toys and papers scattered across the living room, capturing chaotic mom life.
Unwinding? Not here… just two boys and pure chaos 😄

  1. You have an on going comedy I see😂
At this point it’s not even a comedy, it’s a full-time series… new episodes dropping daily, with no breaks 😂
    Always on your toe😂
But I believe, these are moments to carry with pride♡

      1. Most of people in such spaces say that a lot😂
While I can not fathom, my imagination made me experience it. When I get to that stage I won’t be surprised 😂

      2. Haha, that’s so true people say it all the time 😂
And I love that… even if you haven’t lived it yet, you can already feel it a little through imagination.
Trust me, when you get there, you’ll just smile and go, “ahh… this is what they meant” 😄✨

    1. Haha, exactly! 😆😆 That highly suspicious silence is never a good sign… it’s basically the calm before the storm 😂 You just know something is about to go down! 😄✨

  2. This is a very relatable, warm, and lightly humorous slice-of-life piece—it captures the beautiful chaos of parenting with a tone that feels both honest and affectionate.

What stands out first is your use of contrast. The idea of “unwinding” is immediately set up as something almost mythical in this environment, and then you gently dismantle it with everyday reality. That shift from expectation to lived experience is what makes it instantly relatable.

    1. That’s such a thoughtful take thank you Verma ji😊 I love how you picked up on that contrast… because honestly, “unwinding” does feel a bit mythical in this phase of life 😄 But yes, somewhere between the chaos and the little moments, it all balances out in its own way 🤍✨

      1. That’s a lovely way to put it—mythical but still somehow real in fragments 😊
I think that’s exactly what makes those chaotic phases so human: the balance doesn’t arrive as a big, calm moment, it sneaks in between noise, deadlines, and those tiny pauses you don’t even plan for.

  3. You’re always into chaos every day, so you don’t get to unwind.

    Spectacularly written! 👍☺️

Oh, and the cover picture describes this perfectly. Noise, chaos, and so on.

    1. Haha, chaos is only for a little while… but the fun that comes with it feels endless 😄 that’s pretty much every mom’s story 😊✨
And thank you so much! I’m glad the vibe came through… that mix of noise, chaos, and little moments of joy that’s exactly what it is 😊✨

  4. 😁… kids… I hope you get “unwind” session from time to time ji.

Aren’t the school holidays started as of now…..it’ll be more chaotic then?

      1. 😄 haha, so true… Back in childhood, summer holidays meant visiting relatives and endless fun… no worries at all. Now with work, it’s not always easy to make those plans. And my little one is quite different he doesn’t really enjoy going out much; home is his favourite place.

  5. So beautifully real, Rajeshwari ji. This isn’t chaos it’s love in its loudest, purest form. One day this ‘mommm’ will be missed the most.

This is not chaos… this is childhood in full volume 😄 Beautifully captured!

    1. So beautifully said Vijay ji… truly. You’re right it’s not chaos at all, it’s love in its purest, loudest form. That little “mommm” really does become the most precious echo someday… thank you for putting it so gently. 🤍✨
