The Unofficial CEO of the House

Jot down the first thing that comes to your mind.

Jot down the first thing that comes to your mind…

Me:
“So this whole house would actually stop functioning… if I didn’t exist?”

Interesting.

Because somehow—
everyone knows their work…

they’ll do their things perfectly,
no confusion, no questions…

but the moment it’s something slightly outside that—

everything just quietly…
automatically my department 😌

No one says it out loud.
No one assigns it.

It just… lands with me.

No meetings.
No instructions.
No appreciation emails.

Just silent expectations…
and very loud—
“Mummmaaaa…”

And the confidence? Unreal.

Things will be kept randomly,
forgotten instantly,
not even looked for properly

and yet—

final conclusion:
“Mumma must know.”

Of course.
Because I clearly have a secret map of the house
that even Google doesn’t 😅

And the real fun?

If everything is running smoothly—
normal.

Like that’s just how it should be.

But the second something slightly goes off—

suddenly…
“Why didn’t you tell?”

Ah yes.
Because I’m not just managing the present…
I’m apparently responsible for the future too 💁‍♀️

Motherhood:
where you’re not the main character…

you’re the entire system running in the background.

.

A calm mom sipping coffee at a cluttered table while two boys create chaos behind her, with notes around calling her the “Unofficial CEO of the House.
Running the house… silently, efficiently, endlessly 😌💛

Your representation of the motherhood is accurate! 👍

Associating motherhood with being an “unofficial CEO” of the house tells me that you’re understanding the similarities between a mother and a CEO of a business when it comes to how they’re being busy with tasks and other duties.

I like how that woman in the picture is holding a cup in her hands with “CEO of Everything.” 👍

From having a secret map of the house to having daily tasks from the morning to the night, you’re responsible, especially when chaos ensue. Children yelling, projects making, lost shoes finding, and so on…

    Great piece! 😍💜

What a brilliant, honest, and deeply relatable capture, Rajeshwari.

You’ve put words to a feeling millions carry but rarely articulate so clearly. That silent, invisible architecture of motherhood—the way things don’t happen to land on you, but somehow always do—you’ve named it perfectly.

The part about the secret map even Google doesn’t have? Genius. And so true.

You’re not just running the background system. You’re the reason the foreground gets to exist at all. That’s not invisible work—that’s essential work. And you wrote it like the poet of every exhausted, loving, secretly powerful mum out there.

Keep writing. The world needs more of this real, unfiltered truth. 💛

This is so beautifully said Srikanth ji… I’m honestly a little overwhelmed reading it 💛
You understood not just the words, but the feeling behind them and that means everything. These are such quiet, everyday things we carry without even naming them… so to see it resonate like this feels really special.✨
And that “foreground exists because of you” line… I’ll hold on to that for a long time 🥺
Thank you, truly for reading it with so much warmth and for putting it back into words even more beautifully.💛✨

This is wonderfully relatable and sharply observed—wrapped in humour, but carrying a very real emotional truth underneath.

What makes it work so well is the voice: light, playful, slightly sarcastic, but never bitter. You take an everyday experience of motherhood and turn it into something both funny and deeply recognizable. The line between comedy and reality is handled very naturally.

This really means a lot, thank you so much 💛
I just tried to put those everyday, unnoticed moments into words… the ones we all quietly carry. So glad it resonated and felt real to you 😄

      Haha right? 😄
Honestly, I think we all secretly have that map…
just no one else in the house gets a copy 😂💁‍♀️

So real and so quietly powerful.
You’re not just “handling things,” you’re holding the entire rhythm together the memory, the order, the safety net no one notices until it’s missing.

The world may call it routine, but this unseen care is a kind of leadership silent, constant, and deeply irreplaceable.

    1. nihshabdblog Avatar

This is so beautifully and gently said… truly, thank you Vijay ji🤍✨
You’ve put so much warmth into these words it really touched me. So glad it felt real and meaningful to you… that means more than I can say 🥺💛✨

So simply written, yet deeply profound. A mother is the very axis of a household, without her, a house loses its essence of being a home. Beautifully expressed, Rajeshwari 👌💫💐

This is so beautifully said… thank you from the heart KK💛 You’ve captured the feeling even more deeply it truly means a lot that it resonated with you 🤍✨

Hahaaha, so true! I didn’t know how good I had it until I moved out. “Hey! I dumped these dirty clothes in the hamper yesterday! How come they’re not magically washed, folded and on my bed?” 🤔😂

    1. nihshabdblog Avatar

      Haha so true! 😂
Turns out the “magic” was mom all along… we just noticed it too late 🤍✨
