  • The Movie That Made Me Cry Wasn’t a Movie After All 😂

The Movie That Made Me Cry Wasn’t a Movie After All 😂

What’s the last movie that made you cry?

The last movie that made me cry? Hmm… I wish I had a dramatic movie name to share here. 😂 But the truth is, I rarely give movies enough time to reach that emotional moment.

My Complicated Relationship With Movies 😂

My relationship with movies is a little complicated. I start a movie with full excitement, popcorn in hand (okay, sometimes only imaginary popcorn 😄), and after 5–10 minutes my attention politely walks out of the room. Sometimes I feel even my TV knows me well enough to switch off itself.

My Real Netflix Is WordPress and Jetpack

I’m not really a movie marathon person. These days, my real “Netflix” is WordPress and Jetpack. 😄 I spend my time reading people’s blogs, discovering their stories, knowing about their journeys, and getting lost in the beautiful world of words.

Honestly, there is something magical about reading a stranger’s thoughts and slowly knowing the person behind those words. Every blog feels like opening a small window into someone’s world.

    Pinterest, Illustrations, and Endless Inspiration

And when I’m not reading blogs, you’ll probably find me wandering around Pinterest — collecting art inspirations, creating imaginary mood boards, saving beautiful illustrations, and convincing myself that “one more idea” won’t hurt. (Spoiler: it always does. My saved folder strongly disagrees. 😂)

When My Own Creations Make Me Emotional

Sometimes my own illustrations make me emotional. Not because they are that extraordinary (okay, let me pretend for a second 😜), but because there is a strange joy in looking at something and thinking, “Wow… this came from my imagination and my hands.” 😂

Maybe it’s the creator in me, but seeing a blank page turn into something meaningful feels like a tiny miracle every time.

So, the last movie that made me cry? I honestly don’t remember. But a heartfelt blog, a beautiful illustration, an old song, or a simple story from someone’s life can still stop me for a moment.

The Real-Life Comedy Drama That Made Me Cry 😋

And finally, when all these things are not enough to keep me entertained, I have one more source of unlimited drama… my husband. 😋

I go to him with random thoughts, unnecessary discussions, and my never-ending list of things to share. I keep disturbing him so professionally that sometimes he runs out of patience and I get a well-deserved scolding. 😂

And guess what? That is when I actually cry. 😭😄

So technically, the last “movie” that made me cry wasn’t a movie at all. It was a live-action comedy-drama starring me and my husband — no tickets required, daily episodes available, and the main character (me) still hasn’t learned her lesson. 😂

    Maybe I’m not a movie person… maybe I’m a little more of a story-hunter, idea-collector, creator, and occasionally a professional husband-annoyer. ✨🦋😂

  • Women and the Invisible Walls Built Around Their Dreams

Women and the Invisible Walls Built Around Their Dreams

If you could erase one event from history, what would it be?

The Invisible Walls Built Around Women’s Dreams

If I could erase one event from history, I would erase the moment when society first began limiting women and their dreams…

I would not erase a war.

    Not a battle.
    Not a revolution.
Not a name carved in gold on the pages of history.

I would erase a moment that looked so small,
    so ordinary,
that nobody thought it was worth remembering…

Yet it changed the lives of millions.

The moment someone looked at a little girl holding a dream in her heart and said—

“You are a girl. This is not for you.”

    Just a few words.

But some words are not just words…

    They become walls.

    Invisible walls.

    Walls built with fear.
    Walls built with expectations.
Walls built with a question asked before every dream:

    “Can she really do it?”

The Silent Rules Written for Women

For generations, women have heard those walls speak:

    “Girls don’t do this.”
“This is too difficult for you.”
    “It’s not safe.”
“Why do you want to go so far?”

    And the irony?

The same world that tells women,
    “The sky has no limits,”

often tries to decide how high they are allowed to fly.

We teach women how to be careful,
but forget to teach the world how to be responsible.

We tell them to be brave,
but then create a world where their bravery is constantly tested.

    And when someone says,

    “It’s not safe for women,”

    a question remains unanswered…

Why are we asking women to make their dreams smaller instead of making the world safer?

Why should a woman’s freedom be limited because society refuses to remove the obstacles in her path?

    Women Were Never the Limitation

Maybe history’s biggest mistake was never that women lacked talent, courage, or dreams.

The mistake was believing that women needed permission to prove their worth.

Because every woman who dared to create, discover, lead, explore, and rise was not fighting her own weakness…

She was fighting a belief that was handed to her before she even learned to speak.

    A belief that said:

    “Your dreams need approval.”

But dreams were never meant to ask for permission.

If I could erase one moment from history,
I would erase the day the world confused being a woman with being less capable.

Because a woman was never the limitation.

    She was never the problem.

    She was never the wall.

The wall was built by a mindset that refused to see her possibilities.

And maybe the greatest change in history will come when we stop asking:

    “Can women do it?”

    And finally start asking:

“Why did we ever doubt that they could?”

    What do you think?

If you could erase one moment from history, would you erase a war, a tragedy, or perhaps a quiet moment that changed the way generations thought?

I would love to know your perspective. 🦋✨

  • The Secret Garden Women Discover After 40 🦋

The Secret Garden Women Discover After 40 🦋

The Beautiful Secret Women Discover After 40

Have you noticed something strange about women after 40?

They start becoming suspiciously happy. 😄

Not the loud, “Look at me, I have finally figured out life” kind of happiness.

    Something softer.

A smile while holding a warm cup of coffee.
A little excitement after buying flowers for no special reason.
A sudden love for old songs that bring back memories hidden somewhere between yesterday and today.

    And you quietly wonder…

    “What happened to her?”

Did she find some secret treasure?

Did someone finally hand her a magical instruction manual called “How to stop overthinking everything”? 😄

Or did she discover something much more precious?

    Herself.

Because that is the beautiful secret many women after 40 slowly discover — happiness was never missing. It was simply waiting for her to notice it.

The Beautiful Shift Women After 40 Experience

For many years, a woman’s life is beautifully crowded.

She is the daughter who remembers family stories.

    The partner who supports dreams.

The mother who knows exactly where everything is kept — including things that disappeared only five minutes ago. 😄

Honestly, a woman’s memory deserves a special award.

She may forget why she entered a room…

but she will remember that someone mentioned six months ago that they liked a particular snack.

    That is not memory.

That is a premium subscription to the family’s internal database. 😄

But somewhere between caring for everyone, solving problems, and keeping life moving smoothly, she sometimes places herself on a “later” list.

    Later, I will rest.

Later, I will do something I love.

Later, I will spend time with myself.

And then comes a beautiful little shift.

    One day she asks:

“Why is my happiness always waiting for later?”

That is the moment something changes.

She starts understanding that taking care of herself is not selfish.

    It is necessary.

She does not need a special occasion to wear her favourite outfit.

She does not need permission to sit quietly with her thoughts.

She does not need a reason to enjoy a peaceful morning.

After years of being everyone’s safe place, she finally creates a safe place within herself.

The Little Joys Women After 40 Finally Discover

Women after 40 begin to notice magic in ordinary things.

A quiet cup of tea is no longer just tea.

It is a tiny pause button in a busy world.

A walk alone is not loneliness.

It is a conversation with herself.

An old song is not just music.

It is a letter from the younger version of her saying:

“Look, I am still here.” ❤️

    And the funniest part?

The world thinks she has changed.

But actually, she has just stopped carrying unnecessary noise.

The woman who once worried about every opinion now looks at unnecessary drama and thinks:

“Very interesting… but I have tea waiting.” 😄

    She still loves deeply.

    She still cares.

    She still remembers everyone’s needs.

But now, somewhere in that long list of people she takes care of…

    her own name finally appears.

Maybe that is the real magic of women after 40.

They do not lose their sparkle.

    They stop hiding it.

They become like a garden that was quietly blooming all along — with butterflies, little fireflies, forgotten dreams, and colours waiting to be noticed.

And one day, she sits in that garden and realizes:

    She was never lost.

She was simply busy helping everyone else find their way.

Now, she has finally found hers.

And here comes a curious question…When Did the Butterfly Finally Open Its Wings? 🦋

Do men also experience this beautiful transformation after 40?

    Maybe they do.

Maybe their happiness simply has a different address. 😄

Maybe it is finding the perfect chair for their favourite corner.

Maybe it is spending hours happily fixing something that was working perfectly fine.

Maybe it is talking about their favourite hobby with the excitement of a scientist presenting a groundbreaking discovery.

    Who knows?

Perhaps after 40, everyone discovers their own little garden.

Because growing older is not about becoming someone new.

It is about finally meeting the person who was quietly waiting inside us all along.

  • Uncertainty and Me: It’s Complicated

    Uncertainty and Me: It’s Complicated

    Daily writing prompt
How do you deal with uncertainty?

How Do I Deal With Uncertainty? I Don’t. We Just Coexist.

Uncertainty is that one guest who never announces her arrival.

She simply walks in, makes herself comfortable on your sofa and asks, “So, what are we worrying about today?”

And unfortunately, I am very hospitable.

    I let her stay.

Sometimes, I even serve her tea.

Because if there is one thing I have learned about life, it is this:

You can make all the plans you want. Life will still reserve the right to say, “Nice plan. Let’s do something completely different.”

    Uncertainty and My Overactive Brain

I don’t deal with uncertainty particularly well.

    I overthink it professionally.

Give me one uncertain situation and my brain will produce fifteen possible outcomes before I have even finished my morning coffee.

    “What if this happens?”

    “What if that doesn’t happen?”

“What if I make the wrong decision?”

“What if I make the right decision and something still goes wrong?”

    And my personal favourite:

“What if something happens that I haven’t even thought of yet?”

At that point, even my brain needs a holiday.

    Then comes the planning.

    Plan A.

    Plan B.

    Plan C.

And, because apparently I enjoy suffering, a backup plan for Plan C.

I sometimes wish life came with a user manual.

    Chapter 1: What Is Happening?

Chapter 2: Why Is It Happening?

Chapter 3: Relax. You Are Going To Be Fine.

    Sadly, life prefers suspense.

    No spoilers.

    No previews.

    Just coming soon.

Uncertainty: I’d Like Some Answers, Please

The funny thing is, I have worried about so many things that never happened.

And I have faced things I never saw coming.

    Some were difficult.

    Some were painful.

    Some completely rearranged my plans.

And yet, somehow, I figured them out.

    Not always gracefully.

    Sometimes I cried.

    Sometimes I complained.

Sometimes I ate something I didn’t need and called it emotional support.

    But I got through them.

And that has changed how I look at uncertainty.

I still like knowing what is going to happen.

    Of course I do.

I would happily accept a five-year forecast from the universe, preferably with dates, footnotes and a convenient FAQ section.

But I’m slowly learning that uncertainty is not always a warning.

Sometimes it is simply an unopened door.

And maybe I don’t need to know what is behind it before I take the next step.

So, How Do I Deal With Uncertainty?

    I make my plans.

    I do what I can.

    I worry a little.

Okay… sometimes more than a little.

Then I remind myself that I have survived every unexpected chapter so far.

    Every “What now?”

Every “I didn’t see this coming.”

Every “This was definitely not part of the plan.”

And maybe that is what growing older teaches us.

Not that we finally know everything.

But that we trust ourselves a little more when we don’t.

So, I don’t really have a perfect formula for dealing with uncertainty.

I just take the next step.

    And then the next.

And when tomorrow refuses to reveal its plans?

    Fine.

    Let it keep its secrets.

Because tomorrow doesn’t know what I’m bringing either. 😉

  • Adult? I Never Became One — And I’m Not Complaining

Adult? I Never Became One — And I’m Not Complaining

What’s a moment when you realized you were officially an adult?

Apparently, I Never Became an Adult

What’s a moment when you realized you were officially an adult?

    Honestly?

I am still waiting for that moment.

I have looked around. I have checked my age. I have done all the things supposedly responsible adults do.

And yet, somehow, nobody around me seems to have received the memo that I am an adult.

My mother still gives me advice.

My brother still gives me advice.

    My husband gives me advice.

    My in-laws give me advice.

And now, to add insult to adulthood, my children give me advice too.

They have clearly watched everyone else doing it and thought, “Why should we miss out on this family tradition?”

Sometimes I genuinely feel my children think I am younger than them.

The way they advise me, explain things to me, remind me of things, and occasionally look at me as if I am the one who needs supervision… I have started wondering if I am actually the youngest member of this family.

At this point, I am beginning to suspect that adulthood is a scam.

    The funniest part?

    Nobody even wants my advice.

I can give it, of course. I am fully qualified. I have experience. I have wisdom. I have made mistakes. I have learned lessons.

But apparently, my family has unanimously decided that my advice is an optional feature nobody needs to activate.

    Meanwhile, their advice arrives freely.

    Without invitation.

    Without subscription.

And sometimes before I have even finished explaining the problem.

    “Be careful.”

    “Think about it.”

    “Don’t do that.”

    “Why don’t you…”

    “Are you sure?”

    “Take this.”

    “Have you eaten?”

    “Don’t worry, I’ll handle it.”

    Excuse me?

    I am an adult!

    At least, technically.

But then I have to admit something.

    I am actually very lucky.

Because behind every piece of unwanted advice is someone who cares enough to worry about me.

Behind every “Don’t do that” is someone who doesn’t want me to get hurt.

Behind every “Take care” is someone quietly keeping an eye on my happiness.

    And the most embarrassing part?

I often get things before I even ask for them.

Sometimes before I even realise I need them.

So perhaps this isn’t about them not accepting that I have grown up.

Perhaps they simply haven’t stopped loving me like the girl they have always wanted to protect.

And maybe they don’t really want me to become completely independent of their love.

Which brings me to my very important conclusion:

I have decided not to become an adult.

    Why should I?

I have people who carry my worries, listen to my nonsense, tolerate my tantrums, give me unsolicited advice, and somehow still love me after all of it.

    My adulthood can wait.

My teenage privileges are clearly still active.

And frankly, I am enjoying the benefits.

So, if you ask me when I realised I was officially an adult…

    I didn’t.

    And I don’t think I ever will.

Because apparently, the people who love me most are doing an excellent job of making sure I never have to.

    And you know what?

I am perfectly okay with that.

    P.S.

This is based on a real-life situation.

And yes, I am still being pampered.

At this point, adulthood has knocked on my door several times.

My family simply refuses to let me answer it. 😄

So, when did you realise you were officially an adult? 😄

Was it a serious life decision, paying your first bill, giving advice nobody asked for… or are you, like me, still waiting for adulthood to arrive? 😂

    Tell me your moment! 🤍

    वो ख़्वाब, जिसमें हम आज़ाद हैं | Independence Day Poem 🇮🇳

The Dream We Live Free In 🇮🇳

    This morning,
    I saw the tricolour
    and somehow,
my heart began to beat a little softer…

    Perhaps it remembered—
    these colours
were never given to us freely.

    Saffron carries
    someone’s courage,
    white carries
    someone’s dream,
    and green carries
    the laughter and hope
    of this beloved soil.

And the Ashoka Chakra turns in between,
    as if whispering—

Keep moving…there is still so much beautyfor this country to become.

    Today,
even if our eyes fill with tears,
    our lips will smile.

    Because today
we are not merely celebrating freedom—
we are living inside a dreamsomeone once dared to dreamfor us.

    Let the tricolour keep rising,
    let us keep smiling,
    and may India—
    always, always
    keep beating within us. ❤️🇮🇳

  • The Best Restaurant I’ve Ever Been To Has No Address ❤️

The Best Restaurant I’ve Ever Been To Has No Address ❤️

Which is the best restaurant in your city?

There is one restaurant I can never give you the address of.

It has no Google rating, no fancy entrance, no reservation system and definitely no waiting list.

Yet, if someone asks me about the best restaurant I have ever been to, this one would probably win.

    The restaurant is called Home.

The menu changes every day, depending on who is cooking, what is available in the kitchen and, occasionally, how much patience the cook has left. 😄

There are no Michelin stars here. But there are perfectly imperfect rotis, food served straight from the kitchen, someone shouting, “Aur lo na,” even when you are already full, and that one person who will quietly put your favourite thing on your plate without asking.

    The ambience?

Sometimes noisy. Sometimes chaotic. Sometimes someone is watching television while everyone else is talking.

    The service?

    Questionable.

    The bill?

    Surprisingly generous.

And the best part is that nobody asks you to leave after you finish eating.

You can sit there for hours.

    Talk about life.

    Complain about people.

    Discuss old memories.

    Laugh at absolutely nothing.

    Or simply sit quietly.

Perhaps that is why I have stopped believing that the best restaurants are necessarily the ones with beautiful interiors, elaborate menus and expensive plates.

Sometimes the best meal is the one where the food carries a little bit of someone’s love.

And sometimes, the best restaurant isn’t a place at all.

It is a feeling you keep returning to.

So, if you ask me which is the best restaurant in my city, I have an answer.

But I won’t tell you where it is.

You might already have one of your own.

    Now it’s your turn… ❤️

If someone asked you, “Which is the best restaurant in your city?” — what would you say?

Not just the place with the best food, but the one that holds a little memory, a favourite dish, or a feeling you keep going back for.

Tell me… which restaurant in your city has your heart? 🍽️✨

If I Had a Time Machine, I’d Tell My Younger Self This

If you had a time machine and could send just one message to your past self, what would it say?

If I had a time machine, I know exactly where I’d go.

Straight back to my younger self.

I’d find her, sit beside her for a while and say—

“Listen… you’re doing pretty damn well. So please don’t change too much. Stay exactly the way you are—curious, kind, slightly dramatic, a little stubborn, and wonderfully imperfect. You’ll figure things out along the way.”

I’d probably have to stop myself from giving her too many spoilers.
Because knowing me, I’d end up saying, “Oh, and definitely don’t do that…” 😄

    But no.

    I wouldn’t change her story.

I’d let her make the mistakes, take the wrong turns, laugh too loudly, care too much, start over, surprise herself and grow into whoever she is meant to become.

And just before jumping back into my time machine, I’d turn around and say—

“Keep going. You’re doing better than you think. And one day, the woman you become will look back at you and say… I am proud of you.” 🦋❤️

Now, if WordPress gives me a prompt tomorrow asking me to meet my future self for coffee, I’m officially charging for time-travel services. 😂

    And now I’m curious…

If you could step into a time machine and meet your younger self for just five minutes, what would you tell your younger self?

Would you give them advice, a warning, a hug, or simply say, “You’re doing just fine. Keep going.”?

Tell me in the comments. I’d genuinely love to know what your younger self needs to hear from you today. ❤️

    Where Time Still Sits✨

    Dear Teenage Me

  • Authors I Would Love to Have Dinner With | Nihshabd

Authors I Would Love to Have Dinner With | Nihshabd

Which author would you love to have dinner with?

If I Could Book One Dinner Table…

“Which author would you love to have dinner with?”

    Arre… ek? 😳

If I could choose the authors I would love to have dinner with, I honestly wouldn’t know where to begin.

This question is clearly underestimating my literary appetite.

My mind says, “Be sensible. Pick one.”
My heart says, “Excuse me? Why are we choosing when we can invite everyone?” 🤭

Chetan Bhagat, Gulzar sahab, Ruskin Bond, Manav Kaul… I had barely started making a shortlist when my heart quietly cancelled the shortlist.

Because honestly, how do I choose between words that made me laugh, cry, think, remember, heal, or simply stare at the ceiling for ten minutes?

So I have a better plan.

I want a dinner with all the writers I have discovered through WordPress.

    Yes, all of them.

And no, a normal dinner table won’t do.

We may need a banquet hall.

Actually… knowing writers, we may need a bigger venue. 😄

Authors I Would Love to Have Dinner With

I can already imagine the evening.

Someone will recite a shayari that will make everyone suddenly very quiet.

Someone will start singing an old Bollywood song, and within five minutes we will all be transported to another era.

Someone will tell a quirky story and have the entire table laughing.

Someone will read a soft little poem that quietly finds its way into our hearts.

Someone will tell us a story from their life, and we’ll forget that we had actually come there to eat.

Someone will take us back to another time with such vivid words that we’ll almost forget which century we’re sitting in.

Someone will speak about faith and spirituality, and for a few peaceful minutes, even our overthinking minds might decide to take a break.

And someone, I am sure, will say something so profound that I’ll spend the next three days thinking about it while doing absolutely unrelated household chores. 🤭

That’s what I love about writers.

    They don’t just write stories.

They leave little pieces of themselves in our hearts.

    Sometimes a sentence stays.

    Sometimes a character stays.

Sometimes a poem appears in our mind at the most unexpected moment.

And sometimes, without even knowing us, a writer says something we desperately needed to hear.

And perhaps that’s why choosing the authors I would love to have dinner with feels almost impossible.

So if I ever get the chance…

    I don’t want a fancy restaurant.

    I don’t need a celebrity chef.

Give me a long table, good food, endless coffee, a little music, and a sky full of stars.

I want to sit under that starry canopy with the writers whose words have left a mark on my heart.

    Let them talk.

    Let them laugh.

    Let them read.

    Let them sing.

Let them tell us their stories.

I’ll probably spend most of the evening listening, smiling, and wondering how incredibly lucky I am to be sitting among so many beautiful minds.

And perhaps, somewhere between dessert and the last cup of coffee, I’ll quietly think—

“These are the people who once lived only in words on my screen… and tonight, they are sitting right here.”

So, which author would I love to have dinner with?

    I refuse to choose.

My heart has already booked the whole mehfil.

Now I just need to find a banquet hall big enough.

And maybe a table with a little extra space for all the feelings. ❤️

    .

P.S. I haven’t named a single one of you… but yes, I had every one of you in mind while writing this. 🤭 So if you recognise yourself somewhere between the shayari, stories, songs, poems, wisdom and all those little “someone will…” moments… just smile. I’ll pretend I didn’t see you. 😉🦋❤️

May you always find a little magic between the words. ✨

    Until the next whispers…

The Kindness of Strangers: When Strangers Become Friends

What’s a moment when a stranger completely restored your faith in people?

    The Kindness of Strangers

There is something strangely beautiful about strangers.

    .

In a crowded place, when you’re struggling to find your way, somehow a hand appears.
While travelling, when your bag feels too heavy, someone quietly helps.
When you stumble, someone you have never met reaches out before you even ask.

    .

    They don’t know your name.
    They don’t know your story.
    They don’t owe you anything.

    And yet, they help.

    .

Sometimes, a stranger gives you a seat. Sometimes, they hold a door open. Sometimes, they simply notice that you are having a difficult moment and make it a little easier.

    .

Perhaps that is why I have always felt that strangers are not really strangers. They are just people whose paths cross ours, sometimes unexpectedly, sometimes for only a few minutes.

    .

And sometimes, those few minutes become years.

I have met so many people who were complete strangers when our paths first crossed. A chance meeting, an unexpected conversation, a simple introduction and somehow, without us even realising it, a beautiful friendship began.

    .

Some of those strangers became very good friends.

And some are still my best friends today.

    Isn’t that beautiful?

    .

People who once knew nothing about us slowly become the ones who know our stories, our silences, our silly jokes and our little quirks. They become the people we call when we have something exciting to share, or when life feels a little too much.

    .

And then there are those who once claimed to be our people.

    .

That is where the real hurt lives.

    .

Not in the stranger who walked away without knowing you, but in the person who knew you, promised to stay, and still chose to let you down.

    .

And then there are the strangers who were once familiar.

    .

People who once knew our stories, our silences, our little habits… and somehow, with time, became strangers again.

    .

Perhaps that is the hardest kind of stranger—the one whose name you still remember, but whose place in your life no longer feels the same.

    .

Yet, life has its own strange way of balancing things.

    .

A stranger may appear for just a few minutes and leave behind a kindness you remember for years. Another may enter your life unexpectedly and stay long enough to become a friend for life.

    .

And someone you once called your own may slowly become a stranger, leaving behind a lesson you never asked for.

    .

    Maybe that’s okay.

    .

Not everyone who enters our lives is meant to stay. Some come to help us, some to teach us, some become friends, and some simply pass by at the right moment with an outstretched hand.

    .

And to every stranger who has ever helped me without knowing my name—thank you.

    .

You may have forgotten that moment.

    I haven’t. 🤍🦋✨

    .

    Until the next whisper,
