What are three objects you couldn’t live without?
.
People chase enlightenment.
Cute.
I just need three things to stay functional:
my phone, my iPad, and music that hugs my brain.
.
1. My Phone ā my loyal, toxic soulmate
.
My phone is basically in a long-term relationship with me.
It sees everything:
my late-night chaos, my early-morning delusion,
and every screenshot of people I pretend not to stalk.
.
It gives me red flags disguised as notifications
and still acts shocked like,
āStorage full? Babe, you did this.ā
.
But honestly
no one knows me the way my phone does.
Not even me.
.
2. My iPad ā where my sanity goes to detox
.
The moment I pick up my iPad,
I transform into the artist version of myself
that real life is clearly too scared to handle.
.
Brushes, layers, colors
this is my therapy without the invoices.
.
Itās the only place where I make a mistake
and the universe actually gives me an Undo button.
(Real life should take notes.)
..
3. Music ā the mood-fixer, ego-booster, brain-therapist
.
Music isnāt background for me.
Itās my entire emotional operating system.
.
Low energy?
The beat slaps me like,
āGet up, diva.ā
.
Overthinking?
The melody whispers,
āSsshh, babe⦠breathe. I got you.ā
.
Feeling hot?
Music switches on my main character syndrome
without even asking for WiFi.
.
Itās the only thing that flirts with me daily and never gets blocked.
.
THE END (and also the truth)
.
So yes
give me my phone, my iPad, and my music.
Keep the rest of the world.
People drain my battery,
but these three?
They charge me
emotionally, mentally, and occasionally⦠literally.
Add the silent forests, bees š and trees š³
Such a beautiful thought Aniruddha ji š³š
My list was more personal-day-to-day,
but your line adds a whole new depth to the idea. Thank you for that.
āRajeshwari š¤šš»
Nice š
I love this
Yay! That makes me happy ā¤ļø Thank you so much š¤āØ
Love this š itās chaotic, self-aware, and painfully relatable.
Hereās a short comment you can post:
āThis is unhinged in the most honest way possible. Phone = toxic lover, iPad = therapy, music = emotional support system. Zero lies detected.ā
If you want something softer:
āThe accuracy is scary. We donāt need enlightenment, we need battery life and a good playlist.ā
Or extra punchy:
āNot a personality trait⦠but also absolutely a personality trait.ā
Thank you Vijay ji! š
Your comment is more accurate than my entire post. Truly feltšš¤āØ
Nice… Loved it rajeshwari
Thank you so much Aparnaš¤āØ
What a beautifully honest piece of writing, Rajeshwari! Your words capture something so real and relatable – that holy trinity of modern existence that keeps us grounded in our own unique way.
The way you personify your phone as a “loyal, toxic soulmate” is genius – that line about it acting shocked when storage is full? Pure gold. And your iPad becoming a sanctuary where “the universe actually gives me an Undo button” – yes! That’s exactly what creative spaces should feel like.
But your love letter to music truly sings. “My entire emotional operating system” – what a perfect way to put it. The way you describe music as this responsive, intuitive presence that knows exactly what you need – the slap for energy, the whisper for overthinking, the main character syndrome activator – it’s poetic and playful and so, so accurate.
You’ve taken something as simple as listing three favorite things and turned it into a reflection on self-care, identity, and the beautiful weirdness of being human in a digital age. Your voice is fresh, witty, and unmistakably yours.
Keep writing. Keep creating on that iPad. Keep letting music hug your brain. And never apologize for knowing exactly what charges your battery. š«
Thank you so much Srikanth ji for this incredibly kind and thoughtful message š¤It truly means more than I can say. I just wrote what felt honest, and you saw every layer of it so beautifully. Your words feel like a gentle encouragement to keep creating, keep expressing, and keep being myself. Grateful for your presence and generosity. š¤āØ
The iPad section is quietly powerful though. Beneath the sass, thereās something tender about calling it your therapy without invoices. The āUndo buttonā line? Brilliant. Funny on the surface, but it hits deeper ā that longing for grace in real life the way art allows it.
And the music part? Thatās where your voice really shines. Calling it your āemotional operating systemā is such a smart metaphor. It captures how music doesnāt just accompany life ā it regulates it.
Aww, thank you so much, Verma ji⦠Your words truly warmed my heart.
You felt exactly what I was trying to express that quiet safety in the iPad part, and the way music holds me together from the inside out.
I really appreciate the tenderness in your reading.
It made me feel genuinely understood. šš»š¤āØ
That means more than you know. š¤
Iām really glad my reading felt aligned with what you were trying to express. Thereās something special about when someone doesnāt just read your words but actually feels the layer underneath them ā that quiet safety, that inner steadiness music gives you. Thatās not small.
Wishing you and your lovely family, Verma ji, a Holi filled with laughter, colors, and beautiful memories!š¤āØšš»
Thank you so much for your warm and heartfelt wishes šāØ
Your kind words truly add more color to the celebration. May your Holi also be filled with joyful laughter, meaningful moments, and memories that stay bright long after the colors fade.
Wishing you and your loved ones happiness, harmony, and a beautiful year ahead. š¤šø
I agree with the phone and music damn I need 5 things lol
Haha I know right! I also feel three things are too few⦠at least five should have been allowed š But Iām really glad you enjoyed the post thank you so much!š¤āØš§
I like the part about music, it’s so refreshing, soul soothing, inspiring, relaxing and so on…. Have you tried listening to music at night or early morning when there’s no noise in your surroundings, it’s truly amazing. You can listen to music very clearly and you’ll feel whole new perspective of music… You can try once ji….
Thank you so much, Girish jiā¦Youāre right music feels magical when the world is quiet. I especially love listening to it in the morning⦠everything sounds softer and clearer. And honestly, I enjoy music in almost everything I do it just makes life feel a little warmer.āŗļø
Glad to hear that….šš
Ji, Happy to hear that šš¤šš»

I could definitely live without those three however, music would be the one Iād cherish the most from the trio!
I agree! Musicšµis not just a survival tool, itās therapy, energy, and emotion all in one.š¤āØšµ
Excellent and thoughtful picks! And if I must narrow it down to just one, Iād choose the smartphone, a constant companion and a true soulmate in todayās world.
Wishing you and your family a very Happy Holi! šøāØš
So true!š± It really has become our little world in our hands connection, creativity, and comfort all in one.āØ
