My Survival Starter PackšŸŽ§

What are three objects you couldn’t live without?

.

People chase enlightenment.

Cute.

I just need three things to stay functional:

my phone, my iPad, and music that hugs my brain.

.

1. My Phone — my loyal, toxic soulmate

.

My phone is basically in a long-term relationship with me.

It sees everything:

my late-night chaos, my early-morning delusion,

and every screenshot of people I pretend not to stalk.

.

It gives me red flags disguised as notifications

and still acts shocked like,

ā€œStorage full? Babe, you did this.ā€

.

But honestly

no one knows me the way my phone does.

Not even me.

.

2. My iPad — where my sanity goes to detox

.

The moment I pick up my iPad,

I transform into the artist version of myself

that real life is clearly too scared to handle.

.

Brushes, layers, colors

this is my therapy without the invoices.

.

It’s the only place where I make a mistake

and the universe actually gives me an Undo button.

(Real life should take notes.)

..

3. Music — the mood-fixer, ego-booster, brain-therapist

.

Music isn’t background for me.

It’s my entire emotional operating system.

.

Low energy?

The beat slaps me like,

ā€œGet up, diva.ā€

.

Overthinking?

The melody whispers,

ā€œSsshh, babe… breathe. I got you.ā€

.

Feeling hot?

Music switches on my main character syndrome

without even asking for WiFi.

.

It’s the only thing that flirts with me daily and never gets blocked.

.

THE END (and also the truth)

.

So yes

give me my phone, my iPad, and my music.

Keep the rest of the world.

People drain my battery,

but these three?

They charge me

emotionally, mentally, and occasionally… literally.

    1. Such a beautiful thought Aniruddha ji šŸŒ³šŸ
      My list was more personal-day-to-day,
but your line adds a whole new depth to the idea. Thank you for that.

  1. Love this šŸ˜„ it’s chaotic, self-aware, and painfully relatable.
Here’s a short comment you can post:
ā€œThis is unhinged in the most honest way possible. Phone = toxic lover, iPad = therapy, music = emotional support system. Zero lies detected.ā€
    If you want something softer:
ā€œThe accuracy is scary. We don’t need enlightenment, we need battery life and a good playlist.ā€
    Or extra punchy:
    ā€œNot a personality trait… but also absolutely a personality trait.ā€

  2. What a beautifully honest piece of writing, Rajeshwari! Your words capture something so real and relatable – that holy trinity of modern existence that keeps us grounded in our own unique way.

The way you personify your phone as a “loyal, toxic soulmate” is genius – that line about it acting shocked when storage is full? Pure gold. And your iPad becoming a sanctuary where “the universe actually gives me an Undo button” – yes! That’s exactly what creative spaces should feel like.

But your love letter to music truly sings. “My entire emotional operating system” – what a perfect way to put it. The way you describe music as this responsive, intuitive presence that knows exactly what you need – the slap for energy, the whisper for overthinking, the main character syndrome activator – it’s poetic and playful and so, so accurate.

You’ve taken something as simple as listing three favorite things and turned it into a reflection on self-care, identity, and the beautiful weirdness of being human in a digital age. Your voice is fresh, witty, and unmistakably yours.

Keep writing. Keep creating on that iPad. Keep letting music hug your brain. And never apologize for knowing exactly what charges your battery. šŸ’«

    1. Thank you so much Srikanth ji for this incredibly kind and thoughtful message šŸ¤It truly means more than I can say. I just wrote what felt honest, and you saw every layer of it so beautifully. Your words feel like a gentle encouragement to keep creating, keep expressing, and keep being myself. Grateful for your presence and generosity. šŸ¤āœØ

  3. The iPad section is quietly powerful though. Beneath the sass, there’s something tender about calling it your therapy without invoices. The ā€œUndo buttonā€ line? Brilliant. Funny on the surface, but it hits deeper — that longing for grace in real life the way art allows it.

And the music part? That’s where your voice really shines. Calling it your ā€œemotional operating systemā€ is such a smart metaphor. It captures how music doesn’t just accompany life — it regulates it.

    1. Aww, thank you so much, Verma ji… Your words truly warmed my heart.
You felt exactly what I was trying to express that quiet safety in the iPad part, and the way music holds me together from the inside out.
I really appreciate the tenderness in your reading.
It made me feel genuinely understood. šŸ™šŸ»šŸ¤āœØ

      1. That means more than you know. šŸ¤

I’m really glad my reading felt aligned with what you were trying to express. There’s something special about when someone doesn’t just read your words but actually feels the layer underneath them — that quiet safety, that inner steadiness music gives you. That’s not small.

      1. Thank you so much for your warm and heartfelt wishes šŸ™āœØ

Your kind words truly add more color to the celebration. May your Holi also be filled with joyful laughter, meaningful moments, and memories that stay bright long after the colors fade.

Wishing you and your loved ones happiness, harmony, and a beautiful year ahead. šŸ¤šŸŒø

    1. Haha I know right! I also feel three things are too few… at least five should have been allowed šŸ˜„ But I’m really glad you enjoyed the post thank you so much!šŸ¤āœØšŸŽ§

  4. I like the part about music, it’s so refreshing, soul soothing, inspiring, relaxing and so on…. Have you tried listening to music at night or early morning when there’s no noise in your surroundings, it’s truly amazing. You can listen to music very clearly and you’ll feel whole new perspective of music… You can try once ji….

    1. Thank you so much, Girish ji…You’re right music feels magical when the world is quiet. I especially love listening to it in the morning… everything sounds softer and clearer. And honestly, I enjoy music in almost everything I do it just makes life feel a little warmer.ā˜ŗļø

  5. Excellent and thoughtful picks! And if I must narrow it down to just one, I’d choose the smartphone, a constant companion and a true soulmate in today’s world.

Wishing you and your family a very Happy Holi! 🌸✨🌈
