The Friendship Terms & Conditions I Forgot to Read

What’s a lesson you’ve learned recently that shifted your perspective?

The biggest friendship lesson I’ve learned recently? Trust is beautiful, but blind trust can be expensive. Sometimes people leave—not because you failed, but because their chapter in your story was only meant to be that long.

The Friendship Terms & Conditions I Forgot to Read

One lesson has quietly changed the way I look at people.

Apparently, not everyone who says, “Trust me,” comes with a warranty.

Once upon a time, I believed friendship worked like Wi-Fi.
If we connected, I stayed connected.
    No questions asked.
    No background check.
    No software updates.

    Spoiler alert:
That version of me has now been discontinued.

I used to think trusting someone completely was a beautiful quality.
    It still is.
    Just… not on Day One.

Life has taught me that some people are meant to stay.
    Some are simply passing through.
And some arrive only to leave behind a life lesson wrapped in the gift paper of disappointment.

    The funny part?

When trust breaks, your brain suddenly turns into a full-time detective.

“Wait… was that a red flag?”

“Oh… so THAT’S what they meant.”

“Wonderful. My hindsight has finally joined the conversation.”

It hurts. Of course it does.
Because you don’t mourn the friendship alone.
You also mourn the version of yourself that believed it would last forever.

But here’s the perspective that changed everything for me…

Maybe their chapter was never meant to become your whole book.

    Some people are a paragraph.
    Some are a plot twist.
Some are simply the editor who teaches you what you’ll never publish again.

And then life does something unexpected.

    It quietly introduces new people.

People who don’t make you question your worth.
People who don’t leave you guessing.
People who don’t heal you with grand speeches, but with consistency, kindness, and the peace they bring into your life.

So no, a broken friendship isn’t always the ending.

Sometimes it’s just life clearing a seat for someone better.

    Now I still trust people.

I just let trust grow at walking speed instead of giving it a Formula One car on the very first day.

Turns out, that’s much easier on the heart… and far less expensive for the emotional repair department.

Keep your heart kind… just don’t skip the Terms & Conditions. 😉

    With love,
    —Rajeshwari 🧿💕

  • My Gut Doesn’t Give TED Talks| A Poem About Trusting Your Gut

My Gut Doesn’t Give TED Talks| A Poem About Trusting Your Gut

What’s a time you followed your gut and it turned out to be exactly right?

“What’s a time you followed your gut and it turned out to be exactly right?”

    You’d probably expect
    one dramatic story.

    A rainy evening.

    A life-changing decision.

    A perfect movie climax.

    I’m sorry to disappoint you…

My gut doesn’t save me once in a lifetime.

    It works overtime.

When Logic Speaks, My Heart Listens

    .

    There is always a moment…

    Just before life quietly asks,

    “Are you sure?”

My brain immediately begins its presentation.

    “You’re overthinking.”

    “Don’t judge too quickly.”

    “Give it another chance.”

“What’s the worst that could happen?”

    Meanwhile…

    My gut doesn’t prepare slides.

    It doesn’t quote philosophers.

    It simply whispers,

    “Hmm… something feels off.”

    No proof.

    No screenshots.

    No eyewitnesses.

    Not even a decent explanation.

    Just an odd little feeling…

Like my heart somehow received tomorrow’s news
    before the rest of me.

    And honestly…

That tiny feeling has a better success rate
    than all my overthinking combined.

The Warnings No One Else Could Hear

    .

    I’ve met people
    who looked like sunshine…

    until they arrived carrying thunderstorms.

    I’ve almost said “yes”
    to things that looked exciting…

until something inside me quietly said,

    “Not this one.”

I’ve changed plans at the last minute,
    cancelled meetings,
    walked away from conversations
    without knowing why.

    Every single time…

    Life later revealed
the chapter I had unknowingly skipped.

    The funniest part?

    People ask,

    “How did you know?”

    I didn’t.

    That’s the whole point.

    If I had evidence,
    it wouldn’t be intuition.

It would simply be common sense.

    So yes…

    There have been times
    when I ignored that whisper.

    Those chapters weren’t tragic.

    Just… unnecessarily exhausting.

    Sleepless nights.

    Overthinking.

Conversations I should never have had.

    Apologies I never owed.

    Peace I willingly exchanged
    for curiosity.

    Turns out…

Curiosity may have killed the cat.

    But ignoring my gut
    nearly killed my peace.

The Peace That Came From Listening

    .

    These days…

    When that quiet voice arrives,

    I don’t interrogate it.

    I don’t demand logic.

    I don’t ask for references.

    Some truths
    aren’t meant to be proven.

    They’re meant to be trusted.

    Because experience has taught me
    something beautiful…

    That whisper isn’t fear.

    It isn’t negativity.

    It isn’t pessimism.

    It’s every lesson I’ve survived…

    Every heartbreak…

    Every disappointment…

    Every mistake…

    Quietly joining hands
    to say,

    “We’ve been here before.”

    “Let’s not buy another ticket.”

    So…

What’s a time I followed my gut and it turned out to be exactly right?

I wish I could tell you
    just one story.

    But I can’t.

    Because it wasn’t one moment.

It was dozens of tiny moments
    that never became disasters
    simply because
    I listened.

    Maybe I’ll never know
    what I escaped.

    Maybe that’s the point.

    Not every victory
    comes with applause.

    Some arrive quietly…

    Looking exactly like
    the problems
    that never happened.

    And if there’s one voice
    I’ve learned to trust
    without asking for proof…

    It’s the one
    that speaks the softest.

    Because I’ve realized…

My gut was never trying to predict my future.

It was simply trying to protect my peace.

    .

Trust the quiet voice. It has been rooting for you all along. 🤍

    Love,
    —Rajeshwari 🧿💕

  • Dear Younger Human | Nihshabd

    Dear Younger Human | Nihshabd

What’s the best advice you’d give to someone younger than you?

    Dear younger human,

    Don’t rush to grow up.
Adulthood is mostly opening the fridge,
    staring into it dramatically,
and closing it without taking anything.

    .

    Wear the clothes.
    Use the fancy notebook.
    Save some money, yes
but don’t save your happiness for “someday.”

    .

Take photos with the people you love.
One day you’ll zoom in and realize
    the background matters less
    than the faces beside you.

    .

Don’t waste years trying to be liked by everyone.
    Even pizza has haters,
and pizza is doing just fine.

    .

Your mistakes won’t ruin your life.
    They’ll just become funny stories
you’ll tell with unnecessary hand gestures later.

    .

    Learn to leave places
where your peace pays the bill
    for someone else’s comfort.

    .

    And please, drink water.
Half your life problems are emotions,
the other half is dehydration pretending to be emotions.

    .

    Most importantly

    Stop waiting to become perfect
    before you start living.

    .

Life isn’t an exam with invigilators.
It’s more like assembling furniture without instructions—

    confusing, slightly crooked,
    and somehow still useful.

    .

    So laugh often,
    love deeply,
    and remember:

    the adults you admire today
    were once teenagers too—
    equally confused,
    just with less back pain.

    .

    Signed,
    Someone older, wiser,
    and still opening the fridge
as if a solution to life
might have appeared since the last visit.

    .

    Still learning, still laughing,

  • Who Inspires Me? | Finding Inspiration in Everyday People

Who Inspires Me? | Finding Inspiration in Everyday People

Who are you most inspired by?

    Who Inspires Me?

    People often ask,

    “Who inspires you the most?”

    .

As if I keep a secret list

    folded inside my handbag

between old receipts and emergency chocolates.

    .

    The truth?

    .

    I am inspired by everyone.

    Yes, everyone.

    The successful teach me ambition.

    The unsuccessful teach me patience.

    The talkative teach me endurance.

And the quiet ones teach me

that silence can win arguments too.

Some inspire me by what they do.

    Others inspire me by providing

a very detailed guide on what not to do.

    .

    Life is generous that way.

But if there is one group

    that leaves me constantly amazed,

    it is women.

    .

    Women who fight battles

    while answering phone calls.

    Women who carry worries

in one hand and grocery bags in the other.

    .

    Women who hold families together

    using little more than love,

    determination,

    and occasionally a threatening look.

    .

    They bend,

    they stretch,

    they adapt,

    and somehow keep going.

    Honestly,

if resilience were an Olympic sport,

women would politely collect the gold medal,

    organise the ceremony,

    serve snacks,

and still apologise for not doing enough.

    .

    So yes,

    I am inspired by everyone.

    .

    But every day,

    women remind me that strength

    doesn’t always roar.

    Sometimes it smiles,

    ties its hair up,

    and says,

    .

    “Right then, what’s next?”

    .

Stay curious. The next person you meet might just be your next teacher.

  • What Success Means to Me – Nihshabd

What Success Means to Me – Nihshabd

What’s your top tip to be successful in life?

If I were the kind of person people point at and say, “Now that’s success,” maybe I would have a long list of tips to share.

But the truth is, my definition of success has changed over the years.

It no longer wears a suit, carries a title, or sits inside a bank balance.

For me, success now looks a little different.

If My Children Are Growing With Love

If I can give my children a safe place to fall,

    a reason to dream,

and the confidence to become who they are meant to be,

    then I feel successful.

Not because I shaped their future,

but because I stood beside them while they shaped their own.

If My Home Feels Like Peace

Success is not a perfect house.

It is a home where laughter lingers,

    where tired hearts find comfort,

and where people feel seen and loved.

If I can create that kind of space,

    I consider myself fortunate.

If I Can Be There When Someone Needs Me

    A listening ear.

    A helping hand.

    A shoulder during difficult days.

If my presence makes someone’s burden a little lighter,

    that feels like success too.

    If I Am Still Learning

Success is not reaching a final destination.

    It is remaining curious,

    making mistakes,

    learning from them,

and continuing to grow no matter my age.

If I Sleep With A Grateful Heart

At the end of the day,

if I can close my eyes knowing I tried my best,

    loved sincerely,

    and lived honestly,

then I have already achieved something valuable.

    My Definition Of Success

So my top tip for success?

Do not borrow someone else’s definition.

The world may measure success in numbers,

but your heart measures it differently.

Find what truly matters to you,

    nurture it with care,

    and protect it from comparison.

Because success is not always found at the top of a mountain.

Sometimes it is quietly waiting at the dinner table,

    holding your hand,

    calling you Mom,

or smiling back at you from the life you have built.

And for me, that is more than enough. ❤️

    A Final Thought

Success is important. Having goals, working hard, and striving to achieve them gives our lives purpose and direction. But in the pursuit of success, we should not forget who we are or neglect the things that truly matter.

It is possible to chase our dreams while still making time for our loved ones, our well-being, and the simple joys of life. Balance is important. A growth mindset is important. But so is gratitude.

Growth helps us move forward, while gratitude reminds us to appreciate how far we have already come. And when success is accompanied by contentment, it becomes even more beautiful—because true success is not just about reaching a destination, but also about enjoying the journey.

    .

May you find your own definition of success—and the courage to live by it.

  • यादें: Memories That Never Truly Leave the Heart

यादें: Memories That Never Truly Leave the Heart

    Memories are like the wind…
You cannot see them, yet they touch your heart.

And some memories are so special that
    they arrive uninvited,
make themselves comfortable in your heart,
and then refuse to leave. 😄

Sometimes they return through an old song,
    sometimes through a familiar fragrance,
and sometimes for no reason at all…

Sometimes they appear in the first sip of tea,
sometimes in the gentle rhythm of falling rain,
and sometimes while walking down a road
    you haven’t visited in years.
Quietly, they begin walking beside you again. ☕🌧️

    And the funny thing is,
the moments we think we’ve forgotten,
    memories remember perfectly well.
Then they smile and seem to ask,
“Did you really think you could get rid of me?” 😊❤️

At times they bring tears to our eyes,
at times they place a smile on our lips,
but before leaving, they always remind us
that some moments are connected not by time,
    but by the heart. 🌸✨

  • The Happiness Department | Happiness Myths and Everyday Joy

The Happiness Department | Happiness Myths and Everyday Joy

What’s a common misconception people have about happiness

I used to think happiness was very professional.

    You know…

The kind that arrives only after reviewing your application.

“Thank you for your interest in Happiness.”

“Unfortunately, you do not meet the requirements at this time.”

    Please try again after:

    ☐ Losing weight

    ☐ Making more money

    ☐ Becoming successful

    ☐ Fixing your life

☐ Getting your children to answer texts on time

☐ Learning how to fold fitted sheets

    So naturally,

I spent years trying to qualify.

    I made plans.

    Backup plans.

    Emergency backup plans.

    And a few dramatic speeches

for situations that never actually happened.

    Meanwhile,

    happiness was behaving very irresponsibly.

It showed up at odd times.

While eating the last piece of cake.

While finding money in an old handbag.

While cancelling plans and staying home.

Especially while cancelling plans and staying home.

    The strange thing is,

    nobody tells you this.

They tell you happiness lives in big moments.

    The promotion.

    The dream house.

    The perfect vacation.

    The life-changing achievement.

    And yes,

    those things are wonderful.

    But somehow,

the happiness from buying a new refrigerator

    lasts about three business days.

Then you’re standing in the kitchen thinking,

    Well… now what?”

    Maybe that’s the biggest misconception.

We think happiness is a permanent resident.

    Turns out,

it’s more like that friend who drops by unexpectedly,

    makes you laugh,

    steals a biscuit,

    refuses to stay long,

and leaves before you can ask for a selfie.

    It visits during ridiculous moments.

A perfectly made cup of tea.

A joke that shouldn’t be funny but is.

A song you haven’t heard in years.

    Fresh bedsheets.

Finding out tomorrow is a holiday.

Finding out someone else made dinner.

    Now THAT is happiness.

    These days,

I don’t chase it quite so much.

    Mostly because I’m tired.

Also because happiness seems to enjoy hide-and-seek.

    The harder I look,

    the faster it runs.

    The moment I stop searching,

    there it is—

    sitting quietly beside me,

    hiding in a good laugh,

    a familiar voice,

    an unexpected free afternoon,

or a cup of tea that somehow tastes exactly right.

And perhaps that’s the biggest misconception of all.

We think happiness is waiting for us somewhere in the future,

while it keeps waving at us from the present.

    So tell me, dear friends…

What is one small thing that made you smile recently?

    Not the big achievements.

    Not the life-changing moments.

    Just something simple.

A phone call from someone you love.

    A favourite song playing unexpectedly.

A warm cup of tea on a quiet afternoon.

Holding hands with the person who makes your heart purr.

Listening to the giggles, laughter, and mischief of children filling the house with life.

Or a furry little companion who greets you as though you’ve returned from a year-long expedition, when in reality you only stepped out for ten minutes.

Maybe happiness isn’t hiding in extraordinary moments after all.

Maybe it’s tucked inside these little everyday moments that ask for nothing except to be noticed.

I’d love to hear about one of yours. 💛✨

    .

Leaving you with a little happiness today,

  • A Blank Canvas and a Blank Page

A Blank Canvas and a Blank Page

    What are you passionate about?

Have you ever had one of those days when your mind feels so full that you don’t know what to do with all the thoughts bouncing around inside it?

    .

    I have.

    When Thoughts Become Art

    I

A Blank Canvas and a Blank Page have always been my answer to those moments. When my thoughts become too loud, I either write them down or bring them to life through digital illustration.

    .

    Sometimes my thoughts become stories.

    Sometimes they become illustrations.

    .

And that’s why, if someone asks me what I’m passionate about, my answer is simple: creating.

    .

    Not because I’m exceptionally talented.

Not because I’m trying to become famous.

    .

But because creating helps me make sense of the noise in my head.

    .

A Blank Canvas and a Blank Page

    .

For me, a blank page and a blank canvas are surprisingly similar.

    .

    Most people see emptiness.

    I see possibilities.

    .

Of course, there are days when both of them seem determined to test my patience.

    .

    I stare at the screen.

    The screen stares back.

Neither of us knows who’s supposed to make the first move.

    .

    Writers call it writer’s block.

    Artists call it creative block.

I call it a staring contest that I usually lose.

But every now and then, something magical happens.

    .

    A sentence appears.

    A sketch takes shape.

An idea that existed only in my imagination suddenly becomes real.

And that feeling never gets old.

    .

What I love most about writing and digital illustration isn’t the finished result.

    .

    It’s the process.

    .

The quiet excitement of starting with absolutely nothing and ending up with something that didn’t exist before.

    .

    A story.

    A character.

    A thought.

    .

A little piece of yourself left behind on a page or a canvas.

    .

In a world where we’re constantly consuming things, creating something feels special.

    .

In fact, I wrote something similar in my post Creative Chaos & Quiet Feelings ✨😄, where I reflected on how creativity often grows in life’s quiet moments.

    .

It reminds us that our imagination still matters.

    .

So yes, I’m passionate about writing.

    .

    I’m passionate about digital illustration.

But more than that, I’m passionate about creating.

    .

Because every blank page and every blank canvas holds the same question:

    .

What will you bring to life today?

    .

And perhaps that’s why I keep returning to both.

Not because I’m searching for perfection.

But because I’m always curious about what might happen when imagination is given a place to breathe.

    .

What about you? What are you passionate about?

    .

    Until our thoughts meet again,

  • Why Do We Miss People Who Never Chose Us?

Why Do We Miss People Who Never Chose Us?

The Question That Hurts More Than We Admit

There is a particular kind of sadness that doesn’t come from losing someone.

It comes from never truly having them in the first place.

Strangely, some of the people we miss the most were never ours.

    They never chose us.

    They never stayed.

They never made us a priority.

Yet years later, their memory can still appear without warning.

    A song.

    A place.

    A familiar phrase.

And suddenly, they’re back in our thoughts.

    Why?

Why do we miss people who never chose us?

    Maybe We Don’t Miss Them

    At least, not entirely.

Sometimes we miss the version of them we created in our minds.

The version that would finally understand us.

    The version that would stay.

The version that would choose us if only the timing had been different.

However, reality and imagination rarely tell the same story.

Often, we are grieving a possibility rather than a person.

    A future that never happened.

A conversation that never took place.

A love story that existed mostly in our hopes.

The Human Mind Hates Unfinished Stories

    We like endings.

    We like answers.

    We like certainty.

Unfortunately, life does not always provide those things.

    Some people leave without explanation.

    Others slowly drift away.

And a few never arrive at all.

As a result, the mind keeps revisiting what it cannot resolve.

    We replay conversations.

    We imagine different outcomes.

We wonder what might have happened if we had said one thing differently.

Not because the person was perfect.

But because the story never felt complete.

Rejection Leaves a Different Kind of Scar

    Being unloved hurts.

Yet being almost loved can hurt even more.

When someone never chooses us, we often turn the rejection inward.

    We begin asking difficult questions.

    “What was wrong with me?”

    “Why wasn’t I enough?”

“What did they see in someone else that they didn’t see in me?”

Gradually, the loss stops being about them.

    It becomes about our worth.

And that is where the real pain begins.

The Truth We Rarely Want to Hear

Sometimes people do not choose us for reasons that have nothing to do with our value.

They may be looking for something different.

    They may be emotionally unavailable.

They may simply be on a different path.

Their choice is not always a verdict on our worth.

Yet we often treat it as one.

We carry their decision far longer than they ever carried us.

    What We Actually Miss

Perhaps we do not miss the person.

    Perhaps we miss the hope.

    The excitement.

    The possibility.

The feeling that our story might finally be changing.

And when that possibility disappears, we mourn it.

    Not because it was real.

    But because it felt real.

    Choosing Yourself

One of the hardest lessons in life is accepting that not everyone will choose us.

No matter how kind we are.

No matter how loyal we are.

No matter how deeply we care.

However, there is another lesson hidden inside that pain.

If someone could not choose us, we can still choose ourselves.

We can stop measuring our worth through someone else’s decision.

We can stop treating rejection as proof that we are lacking.

And we can finally stop waiting for validation from people who never intended to give it.

    A Question For You

Have you ever found yourself missing someone who never truly chose you?

If so, what do you think you actually missed?

    The person?

Or the possibility of what could have been?

I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Because sometimes the stories that hurt us most are the ones that never really began.

    Until the next quiet thought,

Soft Enough to Care, Strong Enough to Endure

If humans had taglines, what would yours be?

If humans had taglines, what would yours be?

I thought about this question for a while.

At first, I considered something clever. Then I thought about choosing something funny. After all, who doesn’t love a tagline that makes people smile?

However, the more I reflected on it, the more I realized that the words that describe me best are simple:

“Soft enough to care, strong enough to endure.”

It may not sound dramatic. Yet it feels true.

Because if life has taught me anything, it is that softness and strength are not opposites. In fact, they often live side by side.

The Heart That Cares Too Much

I have always been someone who cares deeply.

    I care about people.

    I care about words.

    I care about feelings.

Sometimes I even care about conversations long after everyone else has forgotten them.

If a friend is hurting, I feel it.

If someone is struggling, I want to help.

And if I accidentally send a message that sounds slightly awkward, I can replay it in my mind for days like it deserves an award for Best Dramatic Performance.

It is both a gift and a challenge.

On one hand, caring allows us to connect with others. It helps us show kindness, compassion, and understanding.

On the other hand, caring too much can leave us emotionally exhausted.

Nevertheless, I would rather have a soft heart than a closed one.

    Softness Is Not Weakness

For a long time, the world seemed to suggest that strength meant being tough all the time.

    Don’t cry.

    Don’t feel too much.

Don’t let people see your struggles.

However, real life has shown me something completely different.

A flower is soft, yet it survives storms.

A river is gentle, yet it can carve through stone.

Likewise, a woman can be compassionate and powerful at the same time.

She can speak kindly while standing firmly in her truth.

She can forgive without forgetting her worth.

She can be gentle without allowing herself to be treated poorly.

    That is not weakness.

That is strength wearing a softer face.

    My Unexpected Superpowers

When people imagine strength, they often picture grand achievements.

Meanwhile, I have discovered a different kind of strength.

The strength to keep going after disappointment.

The strength to smile through difficult days.

The strength to begin again when things do not go as planned.

And, perhaps most impressively, the strength to survive technology updates without accidentally changing every setting on my phone.

    Honestly, that alone deserves recognition.

Life has also given me another unusual superpower.

I can encourage other people while still trying to figure things out myself.

Many women do this every day.

They carry responsibilities, support loved ones, solve problems, and keep moving forward even when nobody notices how much they are carrying.

If that is not magic, I do not know what is.

    When My Wings Feel Heavy

Of course, there are days when I do not feel strong.

There are days when my confidence decides to disappear.

There are days when my patience quietly packs its bags and leaves without warning.

And there are days when even the smallest challenge feels bigger than it should.

During those moments, I remind myself of something important.

Strength is not the absence of struggle.

Strength is continuing despite the struggle.

A bird does not wait for perfect weather before using its wings.

Similarly, we do not need perfect circumstances to keep moving forward.

Sometimes we simply need courage for one more step.

    Then another.

    And another.

    Love Makes Us Stronger

One lesson I continue to learn is that love creates resilience.

    Love for family.

    Love for friends.

    Love for our dreams.

And perhaps most importantly, love for ourselves.

Because when we learn to value ourselves, we stop measuring our worth through the opinions of others.

Instead, we begin to trust our own voice.

As a result, we become stronger without becoming harder.

We become wiser without becoming colder.

And we become more confident without losing our kindness.

    That balance is beautiful.

    The Magic of Being Human

I do not possess magical powers.

    I cannot fly.

    I cannot read minds.

And unfortunately, I cannot make laundry fold itself.

However, I do believe there is a little magic in every human heart.

It appears when we choose kindness over bitterness.

It appears when we offer hope during difficult times.

It appears when we continue to believe in better days even after disappointment.

Most importantly, it appears when we refuse to let life’s challenges change the goodness within us.

    That kind of magic matters.

    My Tagline, My Truth

So if humans had taglines, mine would be:

“Soft enough to care, strong enough to endure.”

Because I believe caring is a strength.

    I believe kindness is powerful.

And I believe resilience does not always have to roar.

    Sometimes it speaks softly.

    Sometimes it laughs through tears.

Sometimes it spreads slightly crooked wings and keeps flying anyway.

That is the kind of strength I admire.

And perhaps, that is the kind of strength I hope to carry through life.

    Not perfect.

    Not fearless.

Just soft enough to care, and strong enough to endure. ❤️✨

    With love,
    Rajeshwari 🧿💕
