I Agree

Somewhere between
“we care about your experience”
and
“we noticed you were thinking about shoes,”
the internet became a little too good
at knowing us.

.

It remembers
what we search at 2 a.m.,
what we almost buy,
what we secretly fear,
what we type…
and delete before sending.

.

Every click
leaves a fingerprint.
Every pause
becomes data.
Every silence
gets measured somehow.

.

And maybe that’s the creepiest part
not that machines are watching,
but that they watch so quietly
we forget they are there.

.

Phones glow softly beside our pillows
like loyal friends,
while somewhere far away
algorithms build tiny versions of us
from our habits and hesitation.

.

A digital ghost
wearing our face.

.

Privacy used to mean
a locked diary,
a closed door,
a whispered secret.

.

Now it means
hoping the microphone
wasn’t listening
when life fell apart at midnight.

.

Still,
humans remain strange creatures.

.

We trade pieces of ourselves
for convenience,
for faster delivery,
for curated songs,
for five seconds less loneliness.

.

And afterward
we wonder why ads
know our hearts
better than some people do.

.

Maybe the future won’t arrive
with flying cars or silver robots.

.

Maybe it already slipped quietly
into our homes,
our pockets,
our sleepless nights.

.

Not asking to be feared.
Not forcing its way inside.

.

Just waiting patiently
for one tired human
to press

“I Agree.”

.

A girl illuminated by her phone screen while digital eyes and data surround her in silence.
Sometimes the scariest things watch quietly.

.

Social media is designed to track and trace all of our movements and interactions. It is part of an espionage network.

True to some extent… which is why using social media mindfully has become so important now. Sometimes connection comes with the cost of privacy. 🤍✨

I am so glad that you found some truth in my statement. I cannot express in words how much that means personally to me and how deeply it touched me.

This is such a striking way of putting into words what so many people feel but rarely articulate. Quiet, unsettling, and very relatable.

Exactly… sometimes people feel these things deeply but hesitate to say them out loud. Thank you for understanding the feeling behind the words. ✨

    Rajeshwari ji 🙏
Your writing is haunting in the quietest and most believable way, Rajeshwari.
What makes this so powerful is that it never feels exaggerated every line feels uncomfortably close to reality.

“A digital ghost wearing our face” is an unforgettable image, and the ending with “I Agree” lands almost like modern horror written in plain sight.

You captured something many people feel but rarely put into words: how convenience slowly became surveillance so gently that we barely noticed the exchange. Deeply thoughtful, eerie, and beautifully written.

This genuinely felt so thoughtful to read Vijay ji. 🌼 You understood exactly the kind of quiet discomfort I was trying to capture something that feels normal on the surface but unsettling when you really think about it. And I’m so glad the “digital ghost” line stayed with you because that image came from that exact feeling. Thank you for reading it so deeply and for expressing your thoughts with such warmth and insight. ✨

    Good morning, Rajeshwari! 🌞

Unfortunately, this is the truth about modern social media these days. I agree with you.

Good evening 🌼 Yes… that’s what makes it unsettling sometimes how normal all of it has started to feel. Thank you for reading and understanding the thought behind it. ✨

This is the truth of Social media and you have narrated it nicely.
We all know it but can’t do anything about it.
    Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you so much Chitrangada😊 Sadly, we all see it happening around us every day. Glad the thoughts connected with you. 🙏

Thank you for this thought-provoking piece. Indeed, such is the fascinating power of AI that it seems to follow us around the clock. Conversations, searches, and even casual remarks appear to be quietly noted, only for us to be inundated with related advertisements moments later. So, it would hardly be surprising if Alexa could one day listen to our snoring and decode what it signifies😊😀💐

    1. nihshabdblog Avatar

      That’s so true KK😄
Sometimes AI feels less like technology and more like a silent shadow following our habits everywhere. And honestly, if Alexa starts analyzing snoring someday, I would not even be surprised anymore 😂🌸

This is hauntingly honest and profoundly relevant. 🌿📱 You captured the quiet surrender of modern life so beautifully—the way convenience slowly reshapes privacy, identity, and even loneliness itself. The “digital ghost” metaphor lingers deeply. Powerful writing that invites awareness without losing compassion for our very human vulnerability. 🕊️✨💛

Thank you so much Krishna ji✨
Really glad the “digital ghost” thought stayed with you too. 🤍✨
