I Donโ€™t Readโ€ฆ I Disappear Into Storiesโœจ๐ŸŒ™

What book could you read over and over again?

.

I donโ€™t reread booksโ€ฆ

not because I donโ€™t love them

but because once a story gives away all its secrets,

it stops playing with me.

.

And I like it when stories play back.

.

Because somewhere between the lines,

thereโ€™s always something hiding

something that doesnโ€™t reveal itself easilyโ€ฆ

something that makes me lean in a little closer.

.

And Iโ€ฆ

I crave that first spark.

.

The moment I open a new book,

something inside me shifts

like a window suddenly opening,

and in rush

a thousand restless, mischievous thoughts.

.

Dragonflies skim across my mind,

light and fleetingโ€ฆ

Fireflies glow softly in hidden corners,

like tiny secrets waiting to be foundโ€ฆ

and clouds

they donโ€™t stay still either.

.

They change, they drift, they play,

painting my thoughts

in colors I didnโ€™t know I carried within me.

.

I donโ€™t readโ€ฆ

I run after them.

.

I try to hold onto a moment,

but it slips away laughing

playful, untamed

and somehow, I end up smiling too.

.

And thenโ€ฆ

everything softens.

.

Like time slows down,

like Iโ€™ve stepped into a place

where imagination runs free

careless, curious, alive.

.

Books, for me, are never just stories.

They are worlds

and I donโ€™t visit them,

I dissolve into them.

.

My thoughts donโ€™t stay still thereโ€ฆ

they wander, they chase, they tumble,

they turn into colors, into laughter, into quiet wonder

like a piece of childhood

that never really left,

just hid between the pages.

.

Maybe thatโ€™s why I donโ€™t read the same book twice

because Iโ€™m not looking to remember a storyโ€ฆ

.

Iโ€™m looking to lose myself

in a new one,

again and again. ๐ŸŒ™

Stories donโ€™t stay on pagesโ€ฆ they linger inside me. ๐ŸŒ™

  1. This is beautifully dreamy and deeply immersive writing. The way you describe readingโ€”not as an act, but as a disappearance into wonderโ€”is simply enchanting.

Your imagery is delicate and aliveโ€”dragonflies, fireflies, drifting cloudsโ€”all capturing that fleeting magic of first encounters with stories. What stands out most is your honesty: the love for the feeling of discovery rather than just the story itself.

    1. Thank you so much Verma ji๐Ÿค The way you felt and described itโ€ฆ it made my words feel even more alive to me โœจ Iโ€™m really grateful it could carry that sense of wonder to you ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŒ™

    1. Thank you so much Deepika โœจ๐ŸคThat means a lotโ€ฆ Iโ€™m really glad the lines felt beautiful to you ๐Ÿคโœจ๐Ÿ“–

  2. What a beautiful and tender way to describe the love of reading, Rajeshwari. ๐ŸŒ™

Your words feel like the first warm breeze of springโ€”gentle, curious, and full of quiet magic. The way you compare reading to chasing dragonflies and fireflies, to stepping into a world where thoughts turn into colors and laughterโ€ฆ itโ€™s not just a comment on books, itโ€™s a love letter to wonder itself.

And I love your honesty about never rereading. Youโ€™re not rejecting the old storiesโ€”youโ€™re protecting that first spark, that shiver of discovery. Thatโ€™s not a loss; itโ€™s a kind of reverence. You treat each new book like a first meeting, wide-eyed and full of possibility.

Thank you for reminding us that reading isnโ€™t about collecting plotsโ€”itโ€™s about dissolving into worlds, again and again, like childhood never left, just learned to hide between pages. โœจ

Keep chasing those fleeting thoughts. Theyโ€™re lucky to have you.๐ŸŒท

    1. Thank you so much Srikanth ji for thisโ€ฆ it felt like you saw every little emotion I tried to write ๐ŸŒ™
The way you described it made it even more beautiful for me โœจ

  3. Wow, beautifully written! ๐Ÿ’–

You’ve talked about reading in the most immersive way, and we disappear into stories that books give you, which give you the most impressive stories that we immerse to.

Your dreamy lines are so amazing, and the imagery is so vibrant and beautiful! ๐Ÿ’–

  4. Nothing matches the experience when we first read the book. That first journey is always wonderful, this is one of the reason why I re-read it once again, to capture that experience for me….

  5. Same with me!
Whenever I read a book, I don’t rush, so that I grasp each thought. And when that happens, the book is there in the subconscious mind and re-reading is not needed.
    Well written piece.
I have just published the response to your questions. Hope you like my answers.
Thank you for giving me this opportunity.
    Much appreciated.

  7. I completely agree with your perspective. If a book hasnโ€™t been read with proper focus, it naturally calls for a second reading. However, rather than revisiting the same book, I feel it may be more rewarding to explore another equally compelling one.โœจโค๏ธ๐Ÿ“–

    1. This truly touched my heartโ€ฆ thank you so much Vijay ji ๐ŸคKnowing that my words could make you feel something this deeply means more than I can say. The way you expressed it so gentlyโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll carry it with me. ๐ŸŒ™โœจ

  9. Interesting. I read books over particularly the ones that parallel my life experiences and I do the same with stories I’ve written over the years and am constantly editing. There are memories that I like to live in and writing them down helps to later relive them in my mind. เค†เคชเค•เคพ เคฆเคฟเคจ เค…เคšเฅเค›เคพ เคฐเคนเฅ‡เฅค

    1. Thatโ€™s beautifulโ€ฆ revisiting your own words like that feels like reliving little pieces of yourself all over again. Wishing you a lovely day ahead too โœจ
