I’ll Take the Road Instead
What’s the best and worst airport you’ve been to?
Honestly, this is one of those prompts where I have to admit—I’m probably not the right person to answer. 😁 I’ve been to quite a few airports, so it’s not that I haven’t seen enough of them. I just never really thought about which one was the best or the worst.
To me, most airports are more or less the same.
You check in, go through security, find your gate, wait for your flight, board, and then you’re off. Of course, some airports are bigger, cleaner, quieter, or more convenient than others. But I’ve never travelled with the thought, “Let me see if this airport is better than the last one.” 😂
Maybe that’s because airports have never been the most interesting part of travelling for me.
Give Me the Open Road
If you ask me what kind of travelling I actually enjoy, my answer would be very different.
Road trips. Give me an open road, good company, some music, beautiful views, and the freedom to stop whenever I feel like it—and I’m happy.
There’s something about road trips that makes the journey feel like part of the destination.
With a flight, the journey can sometimes feel like something you simply have to get through before the actual holiday begins. With a road trip, the journey itself becomes a part of the experience.
You can stop for a cup of tea at a little roadside place. You can pull over because the view is too beautiful to ignore. You can take a wrong turn and somehow discover a place you would never have planned to visit.
And sometimes, the best memories are made during those unplanned moments.
So, Best or Worst Airport?
I honestly don’t have an answer.
I could probably name an airport that was particularly convenient or one where I had an annoying experience, but choosing the best or the worst feels a little too serious when I don’t really compare airports that way.
For me, travelling has never been about rating airports.
It’s about where I’m going, who I’m travelling with, what I see along the way, and the little memories I bring back home.
So, today’s prompt is probably not really applicable to me. 😁
If I have to choose between spending hours thinking about which airport I liked best and getting into a car and heading out on a road trip…
I’ll take the road instead. 🚗💨
Some people collect airport experiences.
I’d rather collect road-trip stories.
.
What about you? Are you an airport person, or would you choose a road trip any day? I’d love to know. 🚗✈️
