What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done when no one was watching?
We usually think bravery has to involve something big.
Facing a fear. Taking a risk. Doing something completely out of your comfort zone.
Like going paragliding when every sensible part of your brain is asking, “Are we absolutely sure about this?” 😂
Or trying an underwater activity and willingly going somewhere humans were never really meant to breathe.
Those things are obviously brave.
But I think we’ve been missing the tiny acts of courage we perform every day. 😂
Trying something new in the kitchen, with absolutely no guarantee that the final result will resemble the recipe?
That’s bravery.
Walking into a PTM alone, knowing you’re about to sit through a detailed discussion about someone you’ve been raising for years… and apparently there’s still a lot you don’t know. 😂
Bravery.
Going to a party where you know absolutely nobody, because apparently “You should come, it’ll be fun!” was considered sufficient information.
Bravery.
Walking into a room full of strangers, smiling confidently while desperately scanning the room for that one familiar face.
Bravery.
And then there’s the unknown-number call.
For an introvert, answering that call requires a full internal committee meeting.
Who is this? Why are they calling? What do they want? Should I answer? Maybe it’s important. Maybe it’s spam. Maybe I’ll just let it ring…
And then, somehow, you gather the courage and say:
“Hello?” 😂
Bravery.
Trying something for the first time.
Going somewhere alone.
Making a decision without knowing how it will turn out.
Starting again when the last attempt didn’t work.
None of these come with dramatic music or an audience cheering in the background.
Most people won’t even know you were scared.
They’ll just see you cooking dinner, walking into that room, answering that call, showing up at that party…
They won’t see the tiny moment when you had to convince yourself,
“Okay… I can do this.”
Spending hours putting your thoughts into a post, pouring a little bit of yourself into it, then staring at the Publish button wondering, “Will anyone even like this?”
And pressing it anyway.
Bravery.
Maybe that’s what everyday bravery really looks like.
Not fearless.
Just slightly terrified… and doing it anyway. ❤️
Now tell me yours — what’s your little bravery moment? ❤️
And please don’t say “answering an unknown number.”
I already know my fellow introverts are going to claim that one. 😂🦋
